I love the WG Daytona on Oysterflex and will cling onto any hope of being able to wear one. I can also sniff out a big wrist a mile away.
Interesting that you prefer the YM. I think when things are a little more normal I'll hope to compare the two. I'm a long way off either so no real rush.
I have the 114060 too and the entire time I've owned it I've wondered if I should have got the date, too. I wanted to be a purist and save £800 at the same time. If anything I think the date would distract from the lugs a bit but I know I'm being stupid.
Oh and just to add, I really really want a minty 14060 too.
To my eye the most pleasing to look at and probably will be the best fit for my wrists:

A bit of midday sun on our walk earlier this afternoon
I finally took a pic that qualifies for a 'cross-post' in both watches in the rain and watches in the sunshine!
Next challenge, please!

This today, for a change!
Edit - maybe "Watches In THe Shade" is better, it was sunny, but I was under a lovely tree!

This one hasn't been out much recently, but I'm reminded why it started my descent into watch madness!

On a chilly but sunny ride
Black hands / hour markers most of the time - but show the watch some sunshine & they glow electric blue!
Nice to see one on with a black insert on oyster. Refreshing.
Last sunrise of 2020. And at least it was a nice one:)

Today's bike ride outing by the sea:
You know what? For mineral crystal, the legibility is really quite excellent for a 36mm watch. It does have some AR on the underside helping out I guess. There's very little glare causing issues with reading the time under any lighting.

Thank you sir!
I initially thought the same when I was mulling over buying it or not. It's a lot of money to pay for an otherwise superb quality vintage re-issue but not get modern crystal considering everything else on the inside is modernised and specced really well. Plus the fact that all of my other analogue watches have sapphire!
But now that I have it and can see how in different light how clear this mineral is which lead me down the search path online and I realised there are different grades of mineral crystal by different brands. Hardlex from Seiko being one offering more scratch resistance. Hamilton make no mention on what type of mineral crystal is used here and I won't be putting scratch resistance to the test of course but at this price I'd at least hope it's of a higher grade mineral than say a £100 beater watch. Worth noting that mineral is also less reflective than bare sapphire crystal.
Here's how it looks moving around the dial in dim indoor lighting:
It certainly looks and feels really good and without being told, I'd have never guessed it was mineral and thought it was sapphire based on just how it looks in various lighting conditions.
