I can't resist this watch when it's sunny, the 'glow'.of the deep blue dial always pleases me. So every sunny day it goes on the wrist, which means a lot of use recently. Come the winter, who knows.....

Taken for the Friday thread... but it’s in the Sunshine - so also appropriate here.

Thank you! A camera, specifically a Canon 5DIII and a 24-70 F2.8 on the front of it.

You shouldn't wear your watch when playing golf. The vibration of hitting the ball can damage the movement apparently. Nice watch though :D

There really isn't much to worry about with this. You're not hitting the ball with the watch, and you've a golf bat between you and the ball anyway.

Same concerns have been voiced about using mechanical watches whilst long gun shooting, and again, not much energy transfers to the watch to be of concern.

I got the info from my Grand Seiko manual. Maybe they are being over cautious. The do also say to lay your watch on a cloth to avoid scratching the bracelet when not worn, which is a bit on the OTT side!

You wouldn’t say that if you’ve ever thinned a two iron on a frosty morning. I’ve had fillings vibrate out of teeth doing that 🤣

I quite like that cloth approach - they really do care about their finish! They'll know better than I of course on this matter. My grandfather used to have two watches - an automatic Longines for all times other than when playing golf, where he wore a Quartz Seiko! That caution has not spread to me, though it hasn't stopped me from having more than two watches

Blimey! I thought golf being bad for the teeth was only due to what was imbibed in the bar afterwards.
