Very entertaining thanks for sharing your dilemma. Since I've properly gotten into watches over the last year really, whenever I buy one now, I treat her to an item of jewellery usually a charm for her pandora bracelet and this seems to work a treat, especially as I bought her the bracelet for christmas 2013. May be worth considering, works for me although she does still flip from time to time, but then that's what caterhams are for, so you can buzz off on your own and get away from it all, and her!!
