    First Arnold now Rocky

Came across a line of watches that was designed with the help of Sylvester Stallone. They are god awful in my opinion.
The company Montegrappa teamed up with Stallone to create these time pieces.
Here's the description and the specs
Sylvester Stallone and Montegrappa have teamed up once again to present the*Chaos Automatic Analogue Wristwatch.*Handmade in northern Italy by skilled artisans, the Chaos timepiece's most striking feature is the case, fashioned from a choice of silver or gold, with black PVD-coated steel back.*It boasts the signature skull-and-serpents motif that continues around the case, including a small, engraved skull on the winding crown.*Its highlights have been intensified by subtle shading and hand-applied, full color enamels.

I think these predate the Arnie ones - I remember seeing them again. Unfortunately.

Think the date window is a bit of a turn off.

Well it proves having fame/money doesn't mean you have taste. They are truly hideous!

These pre-date Arnold by a looooong time.

The Montegrappa pens that go with these are actually quite interesting and command good prices it seems.

As to the watches, while they are not everybody's cup of tea, the design theme is consistent and works rather than the random monstrosities that the Arnold line appears to be.

As mentioned above, the pens have quite a fan base I understand. My local AD stocks the pens and I think I spied one of the watches when I was there the other day.
Not my cup of tea either but at least it's a bit different.

Edit; I'm waiting for Chuck Norris to jump on the bandwagon.

They're still working on the technology to allow the watch to roundhouse kick you enemies at the push of a button.

Yes at least they are consistent and the do have an ETA movement powering them but still wouldn't spend anywhere near the asking price for one.

Too way out there but unfair to compare with Armie's line.

I mentioned elsewhere that Stallone's association with Panerai came about courtesy of one Monty Shadow, photographer, publisher, board member of AMG, friend of Johann Rupert (Richemont Chairman) and all-round 'I'm living on a different planet surrounded by a harem of Eastern European bikini models who all refer to me as their Uncle' kind of guy. Monty's office is in Milan and he's matey with Montegrappa, Stallone's a pal so join the dots.

The skull is offset to the left.

    Which would put me off.

Otherwise, it's a classically understated piece.

A few misaligned bolts ( or screws) on the front and this would be a great example of understated elegance. Look how uncluttered the dial is.

I'd have one in a heartbeat, if it wasn't for the SHS.

Wondering why people with no interest in watches are on a watch forum?

He doesn't wear a watch. CHUCK NORRIS says what time it is....

If I saw one of those at a car boot sale for £5 I'd pass. Dreadful - but as someone else said these came out years ago. I clearly remember being a little bit sick in my mouth 4 or 5 years ago when I saw the pictures the first time!

It probably look quite interesting in real life, quite a lot of work gone into all the decoration. I can understand why someone would have one in their collection; can't see it as a daily wearer though.

The workmanship on the case and buckle is actually quite interesting. I would wear one. But not as an only watch and only if I paid for mine what Stallone paid for his...
