Look up Frankie four fingers- he'll put you right.
Thinking of buying @10 to 12 yr old Range Rover ,anybody have knowledge of specialist dealer they trust ?
Used to sell them. Hope you're good at Russian roulette!
Light a fire. Then throw in a stash of £20 notes. Repeat.
You'll probably get more satisfaction from it, and unless you've got a very large stash to burn it will also be cheaper.
10 year olds are a little long in the tooth for most specialist dealers. As mentioned above, have a word with Frankie afour Fingers. Great guy and knows his Range Rover's. I'm sure he'll let you know what to look out for. Make sure you write it all down though because they'll be a lot to remember!
Sounds painful, you will end up on first name terms very quickly with some service manager
Make sure you have a spare car for when the Rangie is having another gearbox installed or yet another electrical gremlin fixed, sorry attempted fix.....
I wouldn't even buy a new one frankly, they are still not on a par for reliability with their German counterparts, lovely to look at, I just don't want to own one
I know several specialists in my area who are trusted however I can't help with Northern Ireland.
If you want to know anything drop me a line either on here or by PM.
Tbh 10-12 yr old Range Rovers are potentially filled with many problems. If the car has been well looked after the pitfalls could have already been done, if they haven't then beware!!
FFF
Overfinch in Birstall, Batley.
Buy a newer one or don't.
May pay you to look for one that is already broken down, This would save all the worry and anticipation of waiting for trouble to rear its ugly head.
Ask a friend to kick you really hard in the nuts every day for a year, it will be less painful than ownership of a 10 year old Range Rover
Russian roulette springs to mind.
Getting a new one on pcp/lease would probably end up being cheaper in the long run.
I kept one for about 4 months
Forget it
It's like opening your front door and leaving it open illuminated all night asking for it....
Thanks guys, message starting to sink in.
