    Question fading mesh watch bracelet

Hi, Over the last 3 years I have purchased 4 mesh watch bands. After about 6 to 9 months the gold plating wears off and the strap becomes dull and faded. I normally spend about £20.00 on a strap. Is the wear something that is normal with this type of strap or am I just not spending enough money. I would appreciate your views. thanks

Gold-plated mesh? Each to their own and that, but would you consider a brown or black leather with a gold buckle instead?

What are you putting these straps on?

Hi Papa Hotel, I am putting it on a 30 year old Raymond Weil dress watch. Case only measures 23mm x 23mm so it wont take a chunky strap. As an alternative to a mesh bracelet I was thinking of a "beads of Rice" strap. I would prefer a metal strap to a leather one. Thanks jack
