For Ken - here we go! The black certainly looks tasty and may be the one that gets me into the metal series!

Thanks, I had seen this. I agree the Black looks the better of the two.

Be interesting to compare with the Porter and the differences in the finishing.

The jury is still out for me on the reverse displays. I did buy the Big Bang Black and traded it on because the whole thing was just too dark. I think the new Black may be similar for me. The reverse display with the steel head and the Kolor gold head are completely different beasts and are great. Maybe the reverse display in a black setting doesn't work for me.

I also think the bits of colour make the Porter a far better looking watch IMO.

  9. #4259
Fair points there - I need to see the negative display in the flesh - and also agree the Porter is much nicer, but it should be for the price (even discounting the mark-ups for it being an LE).

It very much could be the standard in steel will remain being the best version!

Both look good and the neg display of the Kolor is much better than older other neg displays.
Will absolutely add the black one at least.

I'm liking the black more and more in the pictures. Let see how it is in the metal!

I think I would be up for a black one too. It will certainly be very black and a complete scratch magnet but pretty cool. How do they get released, is it a case of watching Casios site and waiting?

My G-Shock grail, hunted for 5 years before it got everything else off my wrist for the next 2 following the purchase. It's actually Feb this year or so when I got back to watch acquisitions and forum activity.

This series of the frogman wears pretty well - yes a bit larger but I really like them. Contemplating this hard. Either this or the new all black B5000. Only funds for one or the other!

    Try the GST-W310 range.

Similar but atomic/solar and a more sensible size

Is there an additional something to figure out here by only showing 4’s and 9’s on the display ?

Very nice Mark, so given the presence the desirable signature do you wear it or keep it as a collectible.

I do hope that comment about the date was a joke

  35. #4285
While browsing watchuseek, the new 35th Anniversary series seems to have been announced - Magma Ocean. I have serious need for that Frogman.

    Going to keep it unworn.

Re the date comment - it was still the 4th here when I wrote it so tomorrow for me was today for you (then) now today for me is today for you until you go into tomorrow and I’m still in today ( until later when I join you and tomorrow becomes today for me too)
    Is that clearer ?

    Or ...

Did you mean - 4th of September, the day I’ll always remember?

A very good release, all are excellent. If I can get that Froggy I will, the MTG isn't bad looking either. Will this be the last of the 35th Anniversary releases?

    Thanks guys!
It’s a standard GMW-B5000D-1 that has been bead blasted, stock model is a bit more bling.

I have one in original finish as well and really like them both but the bead blast probably takes the cake if I’d have to pick only one.

That is lovely - I’ve got the resin strap variant and if I could find a bracelet somewhere I think I’d bead-blast the thing too. Great idea and (rarely IME) as good to see in execution as it is in concept.

Rangeman DCJ - this arrived yesterday. I always that they were super cool.

The jury is out on the size though. I think it might be too big for my wrist.
