Yellow on Buddha' birthday

Deepsea_Dweller has convinced me of needing the new blue/yellow with gold trim Froggy in my life. I am hoping to try and get a discount on some of the webstores so holding for a week or two. I'm not a fan of the previous version to be honest, something wasn't right, but the new one certainly does. €1100 euros certainly isn't cheap, but damn the quality is a step up.

Sounds great crazyp. Let me check and search for better prices. 1100€ should be possible to beat

post some pics of Gravity Master, Gravity Defier and Gulfmasters (all versions). I'm trying to decide between them. The Gravity Defier is currently my favourite......
I feel a bit out of my depth on this thread, however my only G-Shock and my first ever watch.

Do you know the specs for the one on the left?
The one with the blue ring looks like the current Gulfmaster.
These are the GPW-2000-1AJF (black) and GPW-2000-1A2JF (blue). Both are released on May 19th in Japan and cost the same (¥86,400 street price).
Features are a long list but include:
Triple synch: "normal" radio synch, GPS synch, and Bluetooth sync (it connects 4 times a day to your phone)
World time info for 300 cities
Anti-magnetic to JIS1 standard, to protect the receiver and hands from interference
Sapphire crystal with AR coating
20ATM water resistant
Date and longitude display
Flight-log (using the G shock smart phone app) showing your route
57mm wide by 18.2mm thick, 118g
Plus all the usual G shock stuff. Looks like an absolute beast.
No info here yet. Only the two models I noted are currently available for pre-order. Casio's site in Japan only lists those two too http://g-shock.jp/products/master_of...ster/gpw-2000/

Super cool tech for sure, styling wise I'm not too sure though. Much cleaner than the previous version which I found too busy.
DD will be getting one for sure I guess! What about you TT, something you've been looking at?
I like the design. Europe may have the majority in craftsmanship but Japan is where all the horological innovation has been for almost half a century, and Casio are a big part of that. I don't have any G Shocks left after recent purges. This one is interesting but unlike some of its cheaper siblings, it does not appear to have a compass. That's one of the only modern complications I actually use apart from world time.
Old school & contemporary

Wrist shot:
It's certainly big. I would wear this over outdoor clothing. The watch itself is very solid, the buttons work well and the sapphire crystal and dial details are excellent. No compass though so not on my list, but an interesting watch and well executed
Nice, but think I prefer the previous model. Will be on the lookout for a good discount on the old
Model.
Thanks TT, too big for me though. Much cleaner look, almost restrained for a g-shock!
Very very cool TT Thanks for posting
Burton on Saturday - Any Hull or Swansea fans here? Big weekend! And yeah congrats Chelsea. Pretty impressive - well done Conte

Just bought one today, my first ever in Thailand. GWM 5610 BB-1. Apparently it's not the easiest one to find although that could be salesperson speak. Cost me £110. Was this a good deal? I have no idea when it comes to these
Seems a very popular G at the moment!
GW056 that I've been trying to track down for a while. All the functionality I need and a much slimmer package than the usual gshock wrist guard. A little wabi, but hey, it's a gshock...
This is my first G-shock, a 5610. I'm very impressed with it and it will now be my go-to work watch. Very simple to use, great dial and vis and I'm especially liking the auto back-light.
A big shout out to Velorum who started this ↓ thread and got me thinking about a G-shock, thanks!

I too never considered a g-shock but recently ordered a GW5000. Radio sync time, solar power, small package and very retro look made me get it - not to mention JDM model so somewhat exclusive. Gonna see if it works as a daily beater.. Want a set and forget watch and this might be it.
The 5610s are really good every day watches. For sure the 5000 is a step up in quality, but for most the 5610s is enough.
I'm still waiting for Casio to do a high end steel version of a square shock!
Blast from the past. How it all started
