    Thanks!
I missed adding this picture to my post (now amended), guess it would have been helpful,

I'm loving the metal cases as additions to transform squares at the moment. The humble gold 5600e makes (IMO anyway) for a striking (albeit slightly inelegant and garish) metal G :)

I know little about G Shocks but bought this one about 5 years ago and have always loved it. It’s my go to holiday/swim/gym watch

    It’s the GWM 5610BC - 1ER

Apparently the key part of all of that is the BC which signifies the Composite and Metal bracelet which having tried a few on with normal bracelets means it wears quite differently and looks good!

Found my old G-Shock DW-004X-9AT X-Treme at the weekend and have just changed the battery; I bought this in Sydney airport in 1997 and it was the first watch I ever bought myself. I went straight from the airport onto a dive boat and it put up with a huge amount of abuse. I dived with it around Fiji and Australia and it worked absolutely flawlessly; even at 40m. I’d forgotten just how much I love this thing...

No doubt this will seem very much the poor relation compared to most on this thread but this new arrival is my fourth 7900 - a watch I seem to keep returning to that can do the down and dirty work of a true 'G'. This is part one of my G-Shock strategy turn-around. I have just sold my second GWG-1000 which was my previous 'go to' G-Shock and the 7900 will fulfil that role whilst my new incoming grail G-Shock will have purely an office and smart-casual role to play - hopefully that one will arrive this week, customs permitting and I'll post a picture of that when it gets here.

In the meantime, bought yesterday afternoon from First Class Watches' eBay site for a decent price and arrived early this afternoon - that's what I call service!

Snap. Arrived yesterday with a camo bracelet on the way too.

Going through my Gs and realised I've had these for around 12 years or so, not worn them much. The straps and cases have yellowed a bit, as G-Shocks tend to do. Considering selling them at some point, but I'm not sure what sort of prices to ask. Pretty sure I've got the boxes for them all still.

I’ve yet to learn all features but it seems optimized for runners (I’m more inclined to cardio workout in a gym). Probably better fitness watch options out there and certainly better smart watches but I’m a sucker for the design and the inherent G-Shock robustness and the battery/solar capacity.

I must admit I looked long and hard at them myself recently but then thought about the 'other watch' that's on its way. Evidently, it arrived in Trollhattan today and my friend's posting it to me tomorrow. I'll post pics when it arrives and thanks once again for your help!

I returned my gbd-100, first g shock I’ve ever returned actually and I’ve had a lot!
The crazy way you have to access notifications, slow response to button presses and the reliance on an app for setting it up (you can do it on the watch but the letters are so tiny I gave up) plus a step counter that seemed wildly optimistic (apparently 500 steps from my lounge to the kitchen?!) just irritated me beyond belief! It’s a shame as the display was lovely and clear in time mode, and whatever they are using for the bands was really soft and comfortable but the UI was incredibly poor. Hopefully they can sort it out with software upgrades eventually.

Thanks for the feedback RobDad. I was on the fence and would really like one but with all that going on I think a Garmin would be a better buy.

I did the same today and for the exact same reasons you did.

(At the minute) A Garmin does do everything better. Apart from being a g shock.

I'm usually a square G-Shock kind of guy, but thought I'd try a Mudman for a change and I'm pleasantly surprised :)

Loving the depth of the dial and size of the watch. No doubt I'll be on the lookout for more of these now as well as squares!

Nice to see one again. My mudman, was the most accurate non atomic quartz I've ever owned. It gained about a second each two months. Foolishly I sold it. I remember the buttons being very firm to push but that the second stopwatch function was excellent when timing things in the kitchen.

And is exactly why I use my Garmin Tactix Bravo everyday and I’ve not bought the Rangeman.

Although looking at this thread again I’ve decided to wear this today. Now Casio have fixed it and it actually works.
