That's interesting how much effort also has gone into the presentation, most of my watches have come in an okish box.

It's unmistakably a gshock, and has some nice touches, unfortunately a bit too bling for my tastes

Blimey mate, nice incoming - a bit blingy but the case work is something else compared to the 'regular' MR-Gs. Congrats!

Is this the one with the hand hammered bezel? Incredible amount of work gone into the watch and the box!

Oh.. that's something you don't see every day . ..

Aren't cases for these made in GS workshop?

I doubt it, Grand Seiko don't make Casio G-SHOCK

The Zaratsu polishing for the higher end G Shocks is indeed done in the same workshop as the polishing for GS.

This one though has the Tzuiki metalworking process, painstaking and expensive.

"The MRG-G10000HG-9A is now the second MR-G G-Shock to receive the tsuiki hammer-pattern decorative treatment and once again, Casio has recruited Mr. Bihou Asano, who was born into a Kyoto-based family of tsuiki masters in 1943, and who decorated the original Hammer Tone watches.
The bracelet center links and bezel are each decorated individually by Mr. Asano – for all 300 watches."

Oh yes they do... along with Credor cases and Casio Oceanus cases.

Just the case, movement is then installed in Casio factory.

    EDIT: already answered..

Actually not extremely blingy IRL, compared to my ’gold’ steel square this one is quite warm and low key in the tone.

    Yes, it is.

I have been told so by several persons but never seen any direct/undisputable first hand information on this matter, would love to learn more.

Here is a report from someone who visited the GS workshop, together with photos further down of some MRG cases in for work.

The MRG cases are pretty damn awesome TBH, well worth a closer look if you haven’t checked them out before. I did not know they were made in the same factory as GS cases but I’m not really surprised to learn that.

    Phew.
You along with Deepsea Seadweller rock the Casio world.
I can understand the fascination. A lot of interesting stuff.
