Always had a hankering for a Rangeman. Very pleased with the colour scheme too.

Thought this might be a natural successor to the classic G Shock square, the 5600, 5610 and others. In practice it's just a little too big for that, for me.

But the MIPS display is superb. A solar / atomic version would be a lot more practical than the bluetooth feature on this one. I'll probably leave it on 'Airplane' mode and sync it up every few weeks.

    It is a GBD-200UU-9ER.

Got this a short while ago. The summer loving honey edition or something like that (565slv9er).

Perfect for hot and hazy days.

Removed this from the draw it’s been sat in for over a year since I bought it. Forgot how cool it looks.

GWG 2000 wears well even on my girly 6.75 wrist. Still surprised the one on SC hasn’t been snapped up. Great watch.

I'm tempted to just swap in a regular black rubber strap and put the original in the box...

I decided to put strap adapters and a NATO on mine the other day, properly butchered the lugs in the process- I find fitting them a nightmare on a G. Also stuck on a 6900 bezel for a more standard look. Miles better imho! - sticking to metal cased screwbacks in future, can’t get on with the resin cases. I just couldn’t get the springbars to engage in spite of removing the bezel first, proper Bergeon tool - absolute nightmare, not helped that the case is made of black cheese!

Just added the Combi bracelet v2 to my GW-5000U, and I think this is now my ultimate G-Shock by quite a wide margin. Multiband 6, Tough Solar, 200m water resistance, very legible dial, great backlight and the date format optimal for the UK thanks to the new 3495 movement. The Combi v2 is very comfortable as well, tapers nicely, and is a good aesthetic match for the case bezel.

The bracelet takes a little bit of fiddling to get the spring bars back into the holes, but it only took about 5 minutes altogether to fit the bracelet to my 6.5" wrist (4 links removed).

I have the v1 bracelet on my other square (the negative display GW-M5610BC-1ER). The v2 just edges it in my opinion !

Loving the new Mudmaster. Feels a bit more grown up than the original, although I do still love the original and regret letting mine go.

Wearing mine at the moment. Agree with what you say, more grown up and feels more premium but I do miss my old 1000's.

My 6640 40th anniversary is now wearing a regular Casio strap which arrived in the post today. Much prefer this to the 6900 variant which I tried but which didn't stay long. Makes a refreshing change from the 5600 series watches I've most typically bought and worn.

The display seems particularly clear and bright on this, less "ghosting" of the LCD shapes at some angles than my other G-Shocks I've owned.

    What’s the difference between a V1 and V2 bracelet?
Where are you purchasing them from?

Thanks for the info.... perhaps I will send mine to 459GMB to fit then...

I did fit one to a 5610 before but that has a slimmer caseback.....

    Give it a go...

    Thanks

It's not that difficult to fit to GW-5000U ... not straightforward by any means, but anyone with a decent spring bar tool should be able to get it to fit with a modicum of effort !

Like I said, it took about 5 minutes to fit it and size it.

    I bought mine from WatchWAY for £67.85 (£65.00 + £2.85 delivery).

    Looks very nice

What will you be fitting it to?
Bet it cost a LOT more than the £65 V1 and V2?!

It'll be going on this GW-M5600A - which was white when I bought it... so it's been modded before ...

It was £87 shipped from AliExpress ( Utopia Band Store )... I'll post pics when it arrives.

Having taken a GM-2100 in trade a week or so ago, I’ve decided I really rather like the octagonal analogue ones. I’ve picked up a GA-B2100 because the combination of solar and Bluetooth is a feature set I know and love. It’s one of Casio’s interminable series of special editions but I rather like the red accents.

First impressions are good, although the standard resin strap isn’t very nice to wear and has a plastic buckle (ugh).

I swapped that out for an elderly and battered combi bracelet and am immediately much more pleased. It looks the part, is trivially easy to set up and keep adjusted via my phone, and it’s got lots of little design callbacks to the original square Gs. Really nice. Now to find a decent set of strap adaptors… ;-)

@PreacherCain, I’m tempted to buy one of these but wonder if it’ll be too big for my 170mm wrist.
Yours fits well, how big is your risk for comparison?

My wrist is about 190mm. As a good approximation of the size I’d say look at the classic “square” digital G-Shock. The 2100 is near as dammit the same diameter, and 2 or 3 mm bigger lug-to-lug. The square is also a little taller on the wrist. Hope that helps! :-)

I can't see that one of these has been up here yet - recently acquired DW-H5600MB-1ER
    https://g-shock.co.uk/dw-h5600mb-1er...ntpage-nosto-1

I regularly wear a Garmin Fenix, and this gives that middle ground - a G-Shock which still allows you to track steps, sleep, blood ox, get notifications and more.

Some mixed reactions out there but nice heft, decent price/or even cheap for a smart'ish' watch. Oh, and for a square G a very readable time display - almost worth getting one just for this if your eyes are like mine... ageing.

Any recommendations for somewhere to get a bezel and strap in blue, like on the new GBD-200-2ER, for a 6900?

I have a 6.75” wrist and always assumed these were too big for me as well but picked a GA-B2100 up at EJ and was pleasantly surprised to find its a very comfortable fit being as light as a feather and slimmer than I expected.
I only bought it because I fancied playing around with a few mod kits.
