Thread: Show your G-Shocks

I had one of those codenames, on a grey fabric and ‘leather look’ strap throughout the 90’s. It was my gym watch and I don’t remember ever changing the battery tbh. Nice to see one still in good condition

That's the one I should have bought, really. I bought this one for the added GPS bells and whistles, but the ancillary software (ie the Android app) lets it down and a Garmin Instinct has been much more convenient for tracking activities. Still love it, but only for the usual wristwatch duties.

I couldn’t cope with that amount of excess strap tbh, regardless of the size of the watch. It would be great if they came with sections partly pre-cut so you could trim the strap to a more appropriate length - like the old Tag Heuer formula 1 straps. I don’t understand why Casio don’t incorporate this into their designs. Living in the UK and wearing long sleeves a lot of the year would make that much overhang a real problem.

I found I was able to slide the keeper higher up the strap to help hold the end in significantly more than it does in the picture there. Still a huge watch though & way too big for me, so it got sold.

    Loving this at the moment

Try not to laugh, I couldn't. I spotted this G-Shock from Japan on Instagram.
Would it surprise anyone to know that both the strap and bezel are homemade?

Never owned the original but I believe this is thinner overall.
Obviously it is a very big watch. Wears big but I suppose that’s the appeal. :)

This arrived yesterday, the new MTG Rainbow Mountain. It looks less vibrant in the flesh, very interesting piece. I bought and returned the Blue Phoenix, this one seems a lot nicer to me. The bezel looks more like wood in reality, it's hard to photograph accurately.

Had this on for the past few days. Today was my first day back in the office and decided to keep this on the wrist.

Kids think I’m having a midlife crisis, but I like it.

I never really got the whole G thing until I fell for the hype of the Blue Phoenix. That watch has got more comments from strangers than any other watch I’ve owned. Joined today by the full metal in rose gold at a great price from the Jura sale. I get it now!
