Nice! Yours is unusual for a Frog of that era in that it was made of SS instead of titanium like the rest.

Nice series Mitch, the Frog design took me many years to warm to, but really like them now. I haven't decided if I like the latest gen.

    I like it.

Casio went back to homaging the DW-8200 series with the GWF-1000 series and even more so with the GF-8250 like yours. Indeed the resin on the 8250s is interchangeable with the 1990s models.

The 8200s are the series that set off the collecting mania for the G Shock Frogman and this spread to other models to some extent. The basic Frogman hold their value really well and the limited editions normally show good profits over time.

    Cheers.

Still in 2000, here is the DW-8200NT-4JR.

For a long time this reigned as the only Frogman with a serial number on the caseback. Just 1000 were made and highly unusually, it was issued with no RRP so that retailers could charge what they liked. They sold out immediately and the colour combination was so popular that complaints were made to Casio and in 2001 they issued the DW-8200NT2 which was basically the same but was not a numbered edition and was produced in greater numbers with a RRP.

A member of the extended family stops by to say hello (uses the 4331 module that is common to quite a few G-Shocks):

Still in the year 2000 here is the 'Real Black' Frogman DW-8200BK.

This was part of the 'Real Black' series and is one of the most sought after DW-8200 Frogman.

Moving on to the GW-200 series.

Here is the GW-202K-2JR from 2002. It is an 'Dolphin and Whale' model and is very hard (and pricey) to find in mint condition as the blue coating tended to flake away with extended use.

    Very nice.

The price might be high for a Casio but the quality is outstanding at the price level. Mine says hello.

Casio's new triple sensor Frogman generation with new features such as a depth meter sensor ( to gauge diving depth ), compass ( works underwater ) thermometer ( water temperature ) sapphire crystal ( improved scratch resistance ) and a carbon fiber insert band.

Still in 2002 here is the GW-200BC 'Black Helios' model.

Casio sometimes come up with some strange concepts when naming a series, not sure what the hell 'Black Helios' means in relation to this series of watches.

This is rarely seen and its most distinguishing feature is its pink eye.

Now in 2003, the GW-203K-4JR. This model has become more popular over the years and is quite striking.

Found this in a drawer last week, no idea when i bought it. New battery and all up and running again.

Do have a GWG-1000 on order, the yellow band version. Hopefully be with me next week, so will get a pic up. Rather excited to be joining the muddy clan!

Now up to 2004. The GW-200CF 'Brazilian Frog'. Desirable and pricey. This is the Addict version of which there are 400.

Does anyone in Glasgow have a mudmaster?

Really fancy one but don't want to spend£350+ to find out it looks daft.

    Great looking watches.
I've always fancied buying one then I see another which looks better!

  35. #1485
Moving to 2007, this is the GW-225C 'Master Blue'. This was issued as a special edition for the G Shock 25th anniversary. It had the smallest issue number of all the 25th anniversary models.

I love Paris and your pictures sum it up beautifully. Thanks for posting :)

I last went there earlier in the year and went to the Seiko boutique but now I know that there's a G Shock I'll have to go again.
