2nd un. Might get a bit tired of the orange if worn every day.
Will pull the trigger on one of these tonight. Just keep changing my mind.
To wear everyday and not give 2 shiny sh#ts about.
Which one ?
Combat 42
Or
SD40 sapph bezel

Helson to keep MuRph.Looks a very nice watch and not too keen on orange in mid-winter.
The first looks like a poor mans orange super ocean... Why not try that?
Isn't there quite a size difference between these?
Had the Glycine and it's very nice, although gone now.
That Helson looks pretty big (and tall)?
glycine
hands look too bloaty on the other and the crown guards look uncomfortably pointy.
Not a fan of the Glycine, sorry. My choice would be the 2nd one
Mark
Glycine for me!!! just the right side of different to be interesting as a cheap everyday beater!!
Hope you enjoy whichever you get!
Chris
Another vote for the Glycine. I like the touch of orange in it.
Helson
Personally I think the Helson lugs clumsily ugly, and the crown guard too, although I guess it is some type of brutal aesthetic.
Of the two, the Glycine for me, although I find the dial a little busily cluttered.

Glycine for me. It's a good-looking, elegant watch.
I feel that the lugs on the Helson are a bit too bulky. I think there are other Helsons that I'd prefer more than that one.
+1 on this. I think the Helson has one of the most amateurish looking case designs being marketed currently. A 7th grade* machine shop class could probably come up with a more attractive design - it literally appears to have been cut out of a block of steel with a band saw. It's been an ongoing amazement to me that they've been able to sell a single one, but beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. If you like this watch, tho', I'd consider reducing your alcohol consumption...
* I don't know how this translates to the UK, but in the US, 7th grade is where you find the pimply 12 year olds.
For everyday use out of those two I would go Helson but have you considered the plain black faced Glycine? Probably a more apples vs apples comparison and the one I'd choose out of the three (two!).
Good luck, both nice watches
Love the SD40 but have never owned the Glycine so can't comment.
What did you choose?
Helson, the dial on the Glycine is far too busy on that combat sub...
But why not buy a 116610?
I already have a 5513 as a sub. This is for everyday where I may be doing stuff/going places where I won't want to wear a nigh on 6k watch.
Fair enough. Helson then...;)
The Glycine for me, I really like the touch of orange on it.
Helson for me!
Glycine for me.
The case shape on the Helson is clumsy and I don't like the date window position.
Shark all the way. Its big brother says hello!
Glycine for me. More strap options with the orange highlight. Also it's Swiss.
Not too keen on either of them, frankly.
I think there are better looking Glycines and better looking Helsons, to be honest!
I do really hate the crown guards on that Helson, though. Most inelegant...

200m or 500m ? = 500m
Spring bars or Solid bars = Solid bars
Glycine dial or Helson dial = Helson
Orange or Black = Black dial
Eta or Miyota = Eta
Swiss or Chinese = Swiss
My conclusion based on the movement. Glycine wins.

Glycine for me - the Helson's hands are too chunky and the indices too blobby.
Why don't you get a Prs 18 or Prs 82 as a complete alternative to these
Nelson gets my vote
Too late to add a vote for the Glycine then? Having said that, the Helson looks very nice on you
I have it in blue & really love the style of it.
My first bezel with lume, which was a little weird first time in the dark.
I'm not sure the rubber strap looks right with my blue faced variant if I'm honest.
Enjoy it!
Matt
I like the orange Glycine the least - so if you were intending getting it damaged and scratched, that is the one that wouldn't upset me.
The Helson looks more of a keeper.

And there was me thinking how nice the Glycine looked. Never mind - you did well - enjoy the Helson.
Forget that version of the Glycine; orange looks OK on fruit, but not on a watch.
Paul
You made the right decision
