Seems a logical attempt to address an illogical issue.
http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/72458Petition: introduce mandatory noise complaint waiver for anyone who buys or rents a property close to motorsport venue
There are innumerate cases of people knowingly moving within close proximity of motorsport venues, only to try to have their planning permission revoked or have them closed completely when they take exception to the noise.
It is extremely detrimental to the UK's motorsport heritage, when all the motorsport venues start disappearing. Motorsport and the associated mechanical/engineering business is a key British export and second to none in the world of motorsports.
As such, anyone who wishes to buy or rent a property within a determined distance of a motorsport venue should have to read and sign legislature that waives their right to complain about the noise from the nearby venue. If they do not wish to be bothered by something that was a fixture of the community long before they arrived, they should not move there in the first place.

Signed - good spot.
Cheers,

When I lived in the UK this was also a problem for small local airports and airstrips, I guess it still is.
Signed and sent out to a load of friends, good spot!

Done a few weeks ago mate - never thought to share here, nice one!.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
I was involved in the Mildenhall Speedway case. Exactly this scenario, woman (journalist) bought a bungalow (Londoner), she had to drive past the Speedway to get to it, but still claimed she knew nothing about it, let alone RAF Lakenheath (UASF Fighter Wing) a couple (literally) miles away. The Speedway is now gone following her court action, a real loss to the local community. It had been there years, she only a couple. Jut wrong IMHO.
Signed last week, the complainers affect clay pigeon grounds as well.
Alas not uncommon. I understand that this is also an issue with clay pigeon shooting grounds.
Of course, this wouldn't be allowed with, say, motorways.
Bugger, must type more quickly, sorry Seadog.

Sadly applies to almost any existing location that could be considered an "X nuisance".
The line given to me by my Local Authority Environmental Heath Director was to the effect that the legislation introduced by by the previous Government meant that, for example, someone could choose to move into a properly next to a pub, where the property price was low due to an existing noise source, and then file a complaint the next day which then required the Local Authority to ensure the existing premises ceased their noise-making activities.
We've had a situation where I work that noise complaints from individuals living over two miles away have been upheld regarding "incessant aircraft noise" which has resulted in all aviation activity on site to be curtailed. This related to some 5 hours in total a year where model planes were flown from the (closed) runway, which is the other side of the main railway line with all the racket that kicks up every hour. (And drowned out any noise made by a model airoplane)

I live very near to Wimbledon Dog stadium (no longer racing Greyhounds) on Sunday night they have stock car racing, and it is very noisy. We knew this when we moved here, and so did some others around here, but it never ceases to surprise me how many people moan about it.
what did they think was happening over there, Scrabble Tournaments?
and its not as if its a new thing, as far as I am aware it has been going for years, before I moved here 12 years ago, so yes I will sign as well.
Someone near me bought a £700k house in a 'golfing village' development, only to complain to the local paper about the golf balls landing in his back garden...
Couldn't agree more
Yep, what has happened up at Croft circuit is a good example of this, although there is also a little bit more to it. There were rumours of Knockhill having this type of pressure a few years ago which is slightly ironic. It's in the middle of nowhere!
Great spot - Signed and shared on Facebook.

Well done Ralphy, signed and shared on FB & Twitter.
signed & shared on facebook,
Signed... it's like the idiots on that program about the M6. They moved there only a few years ago but yet they complain regularly regarding noise. You live next to a motorway!!
Signed.
I believe that this matter was brought into focus by the issues surrounding Mallory Park in recent years. Local residents, who had moved into the area in recent years objected to noise from the track which had, of course, been in use for decades.
The added issue with Mallory was that it was being used for more days than were allowed on its planning approval, and exceeding noise levels. Circuit owners and operators need to take responsibility for the noise generated by their activities.
