    womans Hairdriers

Girlfriend was drying her hair yesterday, I thought that's loud so got a noise meter from the garage 102.7 db, when I told her she must be ****ing nuts holding that thing two inches from her ear she got stroppy and said its just a hairdrier. I then got sadder and trawled the web to see if there is a limit for these things, I couldn't find one, I also noticed that all the new ones don't quote how loud they are. yet at work we have noise limits for everything...............................I know I'm sad.

I'm impressed she knows what a heat gun is, mine wouldn't have a clue.

That'd never work, a wet shave or a set of electric clippers would both wake her up.

Squeeze half her shampoo down the toilet and top the bottle up with Veet.

This might explain why women tend to shout a lot.

OP, indeed you are sad, however I'm with you all the way.
Every morning SWMBO uses the noisiest hairdryer going, but that is just to keep me in suspense because when that gets switched off this "hairdryer / curling tong" thing kicks in ! The fan is in the handle and can't be more than 1.5 inch diameter , boy does that thing scream !
With some of these daily problems its just nice to know you are not alone, thanks OP

That's loud! When I was a firefighter the DSUs (Distress Signal Units) attached to a BA set had to be capable of sounding for 1hr at 90 decibels, IIRC.

My mrs is the same, hair dryer every morning 7am

102 db is a tad loud. If it was a peice of work equipment you would have to scrap it!

Under the control of noise regs you have to assess the exposure level and damage noise can do at 80db, provide hearing protection at 85db and the max exposure limit at work is 87db (taking in to account the person is wearing hearing protection)!

Its just given me a thought; I could give my mrs a pair of ear protectors for xmas to use when drying her hair, it will show her I care... They could go with the pair of washing up gloves I bought her for her 30th earlier in the year...

    Hearing damage.

Deformed feet from awful uncomfortable shoes.

Skin and hair damage from daily applied chemicals.

Actively wanting the agony of childbirth.

    Dammit, I'm glad I'm a bloke :-D

As an aside, you know why women wear makeup and perfume? It's because they're ugly and they smell bad. (Wife and daughter didn't find that one funny)
