This arrived last week 10 yrs old and sadly GMT function wasn't working - wrote to steinhart and got reply from Gunter "send it to me and I'll fix it - no cost to you, oh and use my FedEx account so you don't incur postage"! Near fell off my seat. Wow and huge kudos to Steinhart customer service.

Another stunner Rusty, where do you keep finding these watches. Great big old fat font again, you can't beat it and wow to Steinhart's response, I hope they deliver for you.

My first Rolex, picked up yesterday when I had a chance first hand to compare a newer GMT II model with the pre-ceramic ones. My heart had been absolutely set on a Pepsi bezel GMT even though my head said a modern version makes more sense.

When it came to it, the older model, whilst beautiful, and obviously a great tool watch of it's time, with all the Tom Selleck, Apollo 14, etc etc legacy, didn't sing to me. I knew the bracelet was not great but would have worn it on a strap anyway. The proportions of the older bezel are nice but it does look vulnerable. Not only that, but it does seem a lot of money for what it is, put up against the enhancements of the newer models.

So the BLNR, won the day, as it is far more impressive in person than in photos. I get the raves about it now. At least it's a bi-colour bezel to add a bit of interest compared to the NR version. I have 8 inch wrist so the extra heft of the newer model and maxi case just felt perfect, and the bracelet (with an extra link) is perfection for me.

As Robin might say....'Holy keeper, Batman'. Very chuffed. :-)

A Hong Kong limited Edition, ping Rusty a PM and I am sure he will give you the details. I think they have been listed, but can't remember in which thread.

I like the styling - owned a good few CW over my time into watches but never a Quartz. Be interested what you think of it. Their finishing is normally of a good standard

I was so close to pulling the trigger on this today but after buying 2 in a week and the mrs and and 18 yr old to get xmas presents for I bottled it.

Is it as good in the flesh as we hear? Quality wise better than most?

I had to be remarkably patient, but eventually managed to get my hands on a SLA015J1.

Rather pleased that it is engraved on the caseback No 002/200

Just picked up from the PO today. Been looking at these for quite a while now.
Just a great watch and something a bit diffferent. Added a bund to the strap and now it's perfect!!

While I don't doubt that it would look excellent on the right strap, I don't think, at least going by that one photo, that the bracelet is too much - the contrast of textures is sufficient.

Love the grey tones in that. It's slightly otherworldly.
