Picked this up earlier this week from SC. I was considering an AT or an Explorer 1 and when this came up it seemed like fate. I have to say the watch has exceeded expectations, I love it. The detail in the dial is stunning and the coaxial movement is a joy to look at. I think I may be done for a while!!

Very nice - as a matter of interest did you get a similar scale of deal as you did on that other Revue you picked up recently?

RRP for these is pretty ambitious IMHO, and discounts are to be had but still not quite at the level of the Slimline I snagged before Christmas.
However, this was not purchased new - it was taken in a trade deal from our very own SC.

Lovely speedmaster. Have been looking at the dark side of the moon but like the look of that, much clearer and I like the grey.

    Zenith Captain Chronograph

I have wanted one of these for quite some time, the drop in the value of the euro against sterling recently made it viable. I had been worried that the silver sunray dial would make the rose gold hands difficult to read in low light - happy to report it isn't a problem even with 'mole eyesight'!

Very interesting to see another GDR Ruhla branded timepiece. I have one too but it's not exactly wearable.

I wrote a thread about the clock a few years back.

I think I'll do one soon Kirk as I'm at a stopping point now.

The VC has a JLC cal. 939a in it from the Master Geographic, so no inhouse there but always happy with a JLC inside :)

I've been after one of these quartz Hammy's for ages and this one's a beauty. Dimensions are perfect for me with the reliability and grab-and-go'ness of quartz:

I only just spotted this thread.
    So... this was my Christmas:

Very nice peice actually. Not sure what role it's going to fill for me, but none-the-less, I like it.

And today, this was added to the family (excuse me for not removing the stickers, but it's now getting stored away until my 20th wedding anniversary.. and that's when they will come off):

I almost purchased the previous generation a few years ago but felt the bracelet/clasp was a let down... but this one hits the spot for me :)

    Andy.

Awesome watch! How are you finding it so far? I'm tempted by one to celebrate my 30th this time next year, but it's in the running with a few other watches. I've always liked the PanoMatic stuff, but this just looks that little bit more special :)

all sold I believe. it is the Sumo SBDC027 Seiko dive watch 50th anniversary. they were being sold at the $500 mark but quickly went up as the 2000 pieces disappeared, I think a few are still available from the usual Ebay scalpers but at around the 800-900 mark

It's my second GO, I really loved the first but moved it on in favour of a JLC. What would I move this on in favour of??? A Lange at 5 times the cost? There is nothing like it, and as such I think it's really guaranteeing it's place in my collection. I have been offered some very tempting trades and outright profit on it but no interest in that.

    It's flipping awesome.

Don't do it. I got mine on Friday, all I am thinking is why it took me so long to get one in the first place. I wondered if it would justify its place alongside a Sub; it does.

Any recommendations now for a leather and coloured nato strap? Black or Tan alligator? Plain black/grey or "Bond"?
Anyone with images of the before and after appreciated.
