Have ordered a grey alcantara strap for it which I think may suit it better than the oem alligator, albeit nice as it is.

Never seen one with a grey dial, that looks amazing. Congratulations

Thanks for the kind comments all, it’s a lovely sunburst slate dial, not particularly easy for me to capture. It’s my third bi metal Daytona, there’s just something about them that I love.

Sorry just seen this. It’s a new reference, pam760 first bronzo rad. It’s not a watch you just buy from boutique or ad, it’s what they call an events piece where you need to be invited by the boutique to a dinner with either the ceo or coo as the host, as a valued customer, only then might one be assigned. They limit production to 300 a year, where a major boutique city might have 1 or 2 dinners a year.

Picked this up this afternoon, and I'm blown away by the quality and finish, which I'm finding impossible to capture in a picture.

Well after no new watches in 4yrs, I've had 3 in the last few weeks., just to recap.

Speedmaster 3861 Sapphire, great watch with fantastic history, lovely winding action & vintage nods, however I found the dial to not be that legible when using the chrono function & couldnt get a good fit on the new bracelet. I felt it wore large and flat, and whilst the slim bezel sparkled lovely in the light, it did make the dial seem large. Also & it might have been me, I found the hands and painted dial to be a let down for it's price point -

    Returned.

Monaca Steve McQueen, one watch I've admired for a long time, love the look face on, I can get past the basic non in house movement & also being square, think it adds to its charm. Loved the light play in the polished bits on the bezel. Nice chrono function and legible! However wearing a few days, it was very brick like and almost like my Panerai where I was glad to put the BB58 back on. Very much a marmite watch & one my other half hated yet was coming round to. Feel the black strap needed to be blue, but even after a few days I was enjoying the vintage vibes. Biggest issue apart from wear was looking at it on the crown side just seemed very slab sided (yes I know a factor of the square case).

Returned (I may live to regret this one)

    Carrera Elegant WoS Ltd Ed

One I kept coming back in the AD, oddly not much publicity around this watch (only 250 made - 125 on strap 125 on bracelet). Pictures dont really do it justice and some images come across as a beige dial in the flesh it pops, wears very nice for a 42mm, seems to be smaller then the Speedy and Monaco yet it isn't. Impressed by the Heuer 02 movement, rotor does act like a fidget spinner sometimes but not as bad at the 7750 valjoux Breitling of my dads. Rallye strap is nice although no taper like the Monaco. Bracelet is incoming but not much to right home about.

Unsure if this is the one or I may go back to the Monaco.

Never seen that WoS ltd edition and wasn’t expecting to like it that much. That’s a really lovely balanced dial and the lack of formal subdial for the seconds is great.

Panicked slightly when I thought you returned the Speedy to keep the Monaco.

    Ha I did.

I was more than happy with my choice (Crazy I know). Yet couldnt get this Panda out of my head.

Running seconds an issue for some but for me its slightly disappearing and not the main feature.

I think the smaller 39mm 60th Panda Carrera got all the media presence, rather than this one.

Hi all - 3 new arrivals! After recently moving on a Rolex I decided to use some of the funds to pick up a Tudor (FXD). However I was so impressed with the brand I decided to collect 2 more of their relatively limited pieces, namely the Harrods edition and the bronze Bucherer.

I’m absolutely over the moon with them all and had enough left over for a Ducati Monster and an all inclusive holiday abroad. More than makes up for the absent Daytona I think!

The Zuludiver clasp is excellent BTW and highly recommend if you like changes straps frequently.

    upload photos online

I’m going to swap the strap for the supplied NATO later as I think it looks better..

This has arrived and on first impression is looking good. 40.5mm, true "flyer" GMT. Quick change straps (but 21mm which is not ideal, but....survivable).
I'm not a great fan of Hodinkee, but I think they have done a good job with this Mido. So far I am impressed.

Thanks. I thought so and hence the decision to get one.
It was released in Nov 2022 and seems to have slipped under the radar bas they still have some left. At $1,395 I don't think they are bad value.
The reviews are positive, from the likes of Worn & Wound, THe Grey NATO podcast etc. It wears really well.
I have a thing for GMT movements.

I acquired this Pelagos 39 the day before I was admitted into hospital, panicked and listed it for sale immediately. However, back home and able to think about it properly it's definitely going to be a keeper. I especially like it on this Zuludiver Lunar fabric strap, and can't imagine that the bracelet and/or rubber strap will ever come out of the box.

    Please excuse the bruised hand.

Lovely, a very under appreciated watch with great lume and the blue of the dial has to be seen in person to be really appreciated.

    Thanks for your interest.

4 days out of the box and very pleased with it. The watch takes it’s design and style from their 1970 Super Squale model, and is pretty faithful to it.

It’s called the SuperBlue and is from their their Sub-39 collection. All models use the SW200, regulated to +/-5 secs, and mine appears to be have gained only 2 secs and settled at that without further gain or loss after these few days.

Beautiful case and finishing, fabulous domed crystal, particularly slim at 12mm for a 300m diver, and an extremely comfortable 39mm (40mm at the bezel) on the wrist, helped by a soft and flexible blue rubber strap. The blue of the dial is mesmerising!

Lume is terrific, although after a good few hours the definition of the hands begins to become a bit weak, but not unreadable.

I love the history and innovation of Squale and the fact that they only make professional diver watches. I’m pretty taken by this one to the point where I’m quite sure I’ll be owning another Squale model in the not to distant future!
