Well I'm now the proud owner of a second GS, a quartz this time and quite a bit different from my GS diver (and from just about every other watch I've owned to be fair).

It's definitely a bit smaller than I'm used to and no dive or 24 hour bezel which is a major departure for me.

Picked it up from a local member which was nice as I haven't got to meet that many from the forum.

The watch looks like new, I don't think it's been worn more than a dozen times in it's life and I'm not sure if it's ever been worn outside!

So without further ado here it is....

    My new (to me) SBGX089

I've always wanted a reverso, a JLC ultra thin, and a rose gold watch. Given that I wouldn't want to wear 3 watches at the same time I bought this:

    Superb bit of kit that.

    Now that is stunning!

Next purchase should be dressier, now that I am done with sports watches. Almost certainly a Reverso, but I'll probably have to stick with the steel 1931. Rose gold is the business though

I was very exited for this new lizard strap to arrive and I must say its a stunning piece!

A little disappointed because it is somewhat long for my wrist.

Two arrivals this week, they really couldn't be much more disparate but I rather like them both.

An early 1950's 33mm diameter J.W. Benson with 16j Smiths Movement.

This joins its yellow lumed brother in the collection.

    And... a 2016 53mm x 48mm Nixie Tube Watch from Cathode Corner with 40 year-old 14mm NL-5870 tubes.

Got this a few weeks ago.

Have the brown dial on order but, warming up to the gemstones... The subtle sparkle from the diamonds then and again brightens any rainy autumn day!

Just got this 2015 Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A-001, like new as it had been back to Patek due to being scratched.

Cost me my DD36, new Omega PO and a small chunk of cash. Was it worth it? At the moment, YES! The sheer quality and finishing is stunning.

Possibly my worst pictures ever but stretched for time between work and baby stuff so snapped them quickly on Friday night when I had a few minutes...

The stress only an Aquanaut owner can understand, having to cut the strap with scissors

    Cheers

I have been after one of these since they were first released, but i could never reconcile the extraordinary RRP, now €12,900 on the bracelet.

However the opportunity arose to trade my Omega GSOTM against an unworn example and i couldnt resist.

its not for everyone, the date register divides opinion, its reasonably large and the bracelet doesnt taper, but on the other side the dial is sublime, the bracelet is the finest i have experienced in terms of construction and finishing, the applied numerals and indices make it pop so much more than a 3777 and it has an in house fly back chrono movement,

excuse the shonky low light snaps

I've had two chronographs arrive today. One was a CK2998 but that has been overshadowed somewhat by the arrival of this. On first impressions it is stunning!

Traded my SMPc for this. Think a retro rubber strap may be in order.

This is only kind of a new arrival: I've had it for 23 years, but not worn it for the last twenty. I think it was 1996 that it disappeared into a box, not to reappear until a couple of years ago. I won't bore you with trouble I've had with it since I dug it out from its place of excessive safety, but today I got it back from Ryte Time and it appears to have got its tick coordinated with its tock again. When I had it 93-96 it was my daily wearer, and it saw an awful of action, mostly related to my falling down or sideways etc.

The case is solid sterling silver, hallmarked 1923 iirc, and the movement is a very standard for its time A Schild. It's a noisy little sod. The case is just 30mm across. Having had small Casio digitals growing up, it didn't seem small in the 90s. I'm determined not to find it too small this time around, and am going to wear it a day or two each month, I hope.

Thank you so much! I love it! Earlier on the same strapmaker made this 20mm strap for my speed master.

And I acquired this 24mm strap for my 111.

Unfortunately this one is XL and too large for my wrist, but I love the material. It comes from a ladies handbag.
