Thanks Jim. It’s pretty clean for a 1966 year. Might pop it on a few leather straps.

After a much appreciated PSA on WT on Thursday, this was waiting for me today on my return home from a week away for work. Definitely falls under the WOW! Category.

That is superb Skip, it has my favourite GS log design in a divers case and HAQ movement. Think I will end up with one soon.

    Any more photos? :)

Hi mate, yes it is rather special. I previously owned the spring drive diver, which I thought was top of the tree. This new one however seems to me to be a step up. Maybe its just that its newer, with GS only branding - my spring drive was Seiko branded.
No more pictures yet I'm afraid. I'll try get some more tomorrow, but be warned - I'm no LTF!

    BLRO... and a Brucey bonus!

So I finally got the opportunity to pick up the BLRO today from the AD after buying it in Feb/Mar, then having to wait four months before returning to the UK.

So worth the wait though. What a great looking and comfortable watch. I'm very chuffed to have this in my posession knowing how difficult they are to obtain.

But... the Brucey bonus came as a bit if a shock to say the least.

After also buying Mrs K some jewellery, they mentioned that I'd shown interest in a ND Sub whilst I was last in their talking to them. I said half jokingly I don't suppose you have one in the safe by any chance. They asked if I'd be interested if they did have.

Well of course I was. So outcame the lovely 124060. Tried it in, loved it, and I walked out a very content owner of not one but two sports models.

And a shot of them side by side.

The gold hue is the awning overhead, not the watch.

Lovely. Still waiting for my blue to arrive in September hopefully!

How do you find the size as this is on the smaller size for me!

    Thanks.

Yes, you are correct. The Gmt CGs are a little pointier, and also the crown doesn't sit as flush to the case on the Sub.
    Here's a couple more -

Also against the other GMT (Expii) -

One nice touch with the BLRO is the coronet position on the crown. This is a first for me -

A group shot of the sports trio -

There was a thread last month titled Long Term Sellers Remorse. In my reply, I listed just 2 watches where I had genuine remorse after selling.
Yesterday, I stumbled upon the opportunity to address 1 of those. Spotted this ex-display model at a High Street jewellers.. minus warranty card but with 12mth warranty provided by the dealer. Price was fair, so I didn’t mess around.

Always found the bracelet a bit blingy so will be searching a suitable rubber or leather strap.

I was surprised by how well it all comes together. At 36 in diameter and 9.9 thick it feels and looks more substantial while still retaining the vintage charm. A little bit of distortion at the edge of the crystal, and Bréguet numbers and hands which catch the light and leap out are great little design touches.

Well done - I bought your old one years ago! And yes, it looks better on rubber, there's enough detail on the watch itself without the bracelet needing to stand out.

I'm afraid it's gone and like you, it's one of the ones I'm not sure I should have moved on. The other regrets are a McQueen Monaco and a PAM - all 3 of which seem to command far steeper prices these days.

    Anyway, this arrived today:

Perfect timing as all four arrived this morning.

A Marloe Atlantic Chronograph (with the Seiko NE88/8R28), a Japanese home market Seiko SBBN045, a rather nice 7548 I received directly from Japan and a Crepas Batiscafo 1200m Diver.

    I'm impressed with all four.

All gaskets changed on the 7548. Case tops rebrushed. Chapter ring realigned. It's looking very nice for a 41 year old.

The Tuna's lume is glowing and it hasn't even been outside yet!

With yours and Raj’s pictures I am starting to think I missed out on the Crepas. I think it looks great

Edit they are still for sale as is the magnum opus chronograph
Hmmmmmm what needs to be sold to make way.

Not a new watch but this one just came back from a (long overdue) colour matching job on the hands. Rolex replaced the original hands during one of the earlier services (still period correct) and they aged to a slightly lighter hue compared to the markers. Now sorted:)

I thought I'd be disappointed with it, but it is nice. The crown system is superb.
