I think it is great. The clasp is a little thin and rattly but the end links are a really good fit, it feels good for being lighter in weight and visually it looks superb. I love the fact that it tapers from 20mm down to 16mm. It really transforms the look of the watch compared to the Omega bracelet (for the better in my opinion).

Yes the bracelet is an improvement for me

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

I have had the watch about 12 years old but the bracelet arrived this morning. I have no idea what I didn’t buy it on a bracelet in the first place. I really like the look and once I had got it sized and fitted it wears very comfortably. It gives the watch a new lease of life as it had become a bit neglected of late.

Freshly arrived from Groningen this lovely lump of seventies squareness.

It is a Helva Transitronic with Dynotron 9154 movement. Partially bought as a spare movement it is currently running at 0spd after 24hrs which isn't bad.

I think the lume plots may be an after-market addition.

Not a watch but a cheap strap of ebay, 'breitline' (see what they did there!!!). But I've achieved the endurance look with a considerable more expensive watch!!!!

    Too yellow????

Picked up this in the CW sale. It's 38mm (45 mm lug width) and perfect for my 6.5 inch wrist. I usually wear 40 and 41mm watches, but the 38mm just suits my smaller wrist better IMO.

If you can look past the logo, then with a Swiss movement, ceramic bezel, sapphire, micro-adjustable bracelet and fantastic lume, then there is no better watch (especially if you are quick enough to buy in the CW sale) for the money.

And with 600m depth rating, it is just about suitable for my deep desk diving activities. Excuse the blurry lume pic, but you get the gist.

Finally found a clean example of the 5717-8990! Not the Asian Games Tokyo marked one as this is a few years after than but it’s good enough for me. Ordered a grey distressed strap for this. Can’t wait to switch it up.

Another recent arrival. Sold as not working but was happy to find

    A) the original cell in it so I could remove and reuse the tab attached to it.

    B) the cell had only just started to exude the dreaded blue gloop so it hadn't ruined the internals.

So a new rechargeable cell and it went from this:

    To this

I'm not entirely sure that all of the buttons work but for the time being I'll enjoy it as it is.

A quick update on this one. The initial disappointment as it didn't work has been a false alarm. A freshly ordered battery and elle va.

Mind you I have had to set the year to 1986 as the calendar only goes up to 2003.

Pretty chuffed with this one. Size feels perfect for my wrist and the taper that people have been complaining about doesn't seem like an issue to me.

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

This little beauty has just arrived.

Don’t suppose anyone has a 40mm or 45mm Blancpain Fifty Fathoms as well as one of these for a size / wear comparison?

Been after one of these 356 UTC for ages, UTC time is actually a complication I use every day for work.

The watch in real life exceeds the presence such a demure 38.5mm case should. The black is very black, the white is very white and the yellow UTC really pops out.

    What a cracker.

Really cool. Prefer this to Ming Massena collab. The plain dial is classy. May be in metal the ne’er one is different

This is fresh in this morning
It completes the collection (well marathon watches I want to own any way)

Just need to source a 16mm US pull through strap. I was surprised I didn’t have one in the strap box!

Very pleased to pick up my new Explorer 2 (previous version) from my Rolex AD today. New/old stock I suppose but a lovely addition to my small collection.

They also had the full rose gold Daytona, with sunset dial and diamond hour makers. Really hard to photograph with my crappy phone and zero photographic skills but it was absolutely beautiful in the flesh. I'm seriously considering this as my retirement piece and hope to pick it up in September all being well.

No, it looks terrible and you should sell it to me. Great buy and gutted I missed this, missed the seller’s Tissot too! Enjoy.

The return of an old friend that I bought from new. I should never have sold it but it’s been in the very good hands of several TZers since.

Had a day out in Cardiff today with an eye on another purchase. Been looking at omega for a while and they had the 2020 Tokyo games 300SM sat there.
First Omega for me and extremely happy with it.
