New in today. Lot of negative press but I do like it. Though will probably change the strap for a darker colour.

This arrived at the end of last week and I'm rather taken with it...as I am with all my Monaco's. Just need to reign the buying in a bit now. 4 in 4 months is not pleasing Mrs JiaB!

I've long realised that after sixty-something watches into the hobby, I've never owned a Citizen but had somehow never found the right watch at the right time or, simply not got around to simply buying one so, after a YouTube wormhole the other day, I decided on a simple NY0040 as one of their staples. Charming thing in many ways and I like the 'destro' crown.

Not being a tuna expert, I would struggle to spot that! Very nice, all the same. I will get some tuna in my life at some point...

Very excited about this latest incoming. For many years people believed that no Fatboys were issued in 1981, None were issued to the Army, but a small batch of less than 300 watches prefixed 0552 were issued to the Royal Navy / Royal Marines. Looks a little tatty at present, isn’t working and the crown is stiff, so it’s off to olli to weave his magic on it.

You are getting a nice collection of rarities together.
I look forward to seeing this one brought back to life.

My previous one, the SBBN033, had a black dial and steel bezel insert. This 037 has a deep blue dial with blue ceramic insert. I much prefer this one to be honest. The blue is so dark that it has appeared black all day but occasionally you get a burst of navy blue so the best of both worlds really.

    Thanks John,

When I get it back I was thinking of doing a sort of review / SOTC in the military watch section. Not done one of those before.

They’re really great watches and I must get round to getting one of the full lume models.

It's gained 3 seconds in the first 24 hours which isn't too shabby for a cheap automatic. There are things I like over and above an SKX which I guess is its closest rival. It hacks and manually winds and the bezel is correctly aligned (only 60 clicks but feels nicer in the way it turns). I also like the left hand crown for comfort. If only they'd start to fit the 4S36 into the SKX... Anyway, as a cheap 'beater' I'm impressed.

Posted in the rarefied BMW subforum earlier, I have been wearing this since it arrived a few days back:

And next to one of its CYMA cousins...

I have quite taken to it. Was a bit of a leap when I took it off to try on a Panerai though

Arrived at the weekend but wanted to put it on a silicone ladder strap for a 70's vibe before wearing it...

    Love it.

Would have jumped on one of these but just sent my GBX-100 back as it wore just a little too big: I presume these are the same? About 30-50% larger than a regular square?

Yeah, I think it is the same as the GBX100, size wise. So far, very impressed with the step tracker accuracy and some of the features.

Here it is next to my old faithful…….

Binsull. I'm already an Omega fan but that Seamaster and strap combo really look the dogs.
