Thanks, the watch roll is by Bosphorus Leather, can be found on insta. Good quality and reasonable if your looking at Everest. Bought on BF deal and worked out £230 with tax on delivery it’s the Montana 03

Pick up from SC last week. Love the subtle contrasting finishes on the case.

I’ve had the date version before but I have to say I love the simplicity of the ND.

Many thanks. Not quite sure what my forte is but it’s not photography.

I take it even the re-issues are completely unobtainable now? Not that I could do anything about it as I’m moving next month!

Thank you. Funny how they're in Turkey but not for sale in Lira. Currency not stable enough. A proper roll with button in cushions is what I've been after a while I'm just too cheap to spend that. I will at some point, it will just hurt me to do it.

I had it in my basket 3 times before I finally committed, I’m way to cheap to be buying it also. Luckily I sold something on eBay for £100 and I was going to Chuck it in the bin. I knew the Cermit was arriving before Xmas otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. In truth an expense that’s certainly not needed.

Been waiting a couple of years now for this. I bought the 5167/1A variant on stainless steel. The rubber strap and deployant were ordered as additions, to give the best of both worlds. Really comfortable on both, but much lighter on the rubber.

Wow, merry Christmas. What a treat. Good to have both options but I wouldn't want to be the one attacking those lugs, wouldn't trust myself!

Patek does nothing for me, although I 'respect' the amazing horological craftsmanship. The Aquanaut however is a watch that I could happily wear, along with the 'Pilot' if only in SS.
Looks so nice on the bracelet too.

Thank you. Yes, I found it much harder changing over the strap. Mainly due to the 2 fixed pins that slot into the case, aswell as the spring bar. I’m sure I scratched the back of the lugs a bit, but I’m not looking !!!

Some balls there :) big congrats, absolutely love the 5167, sadly I missed the bandwagon with a few years. But pls keep it on the rubber, that’s how it should look :)

This Seiko SPB187 looks terrific and, IMO, the 42mm size is nicer than the usual 44-45mm for similar divers. And a blue strap suits it too.

That is a full hour and 20 minutes before midnight, and the date change is already half way there. Does that happen all the time? I hope not

    A very welcome surprise today.

Sat at home after being dragged round some shops by Mrs GB, when the phone rings.

"We have a watch for you Mr GB".

Now I've been waiting a short while for an Explorer, so was expecting that. But, no..... it was this.

    Thank you!

The back is engraved as it was awarded for long service at the aerospace company he worked for. Certainly one that isn't going anywhere.

Forum purchase arrived this morning. Always wanted to try this watch and I’m happy with it so far.

  41. #11741
Had a couple over the past week, first up was a forum purchase.

Breitling never really interested me much but when I saw this Aerospace Evo Night Mission, I was completely taken by it and boy am I enjoying having it on my wrist. Lovely watch and will be staying for a long time to come.

Second one was slightly unplanned in that I wanted to try the BB 58 on as I hadn't ever tried it and wasn't sure about the size. Went to the Tudor Boutique and tried it on and I must say it's so much more comfortable than the original BB and for me the hype really is justified. I put my name down for a blue and they just so happened to have one become available that day in Black which I gratefully bought. Lovely, lovely watch and wears very well. 39mm isn't typically the size of watch that I wear but I knew as soon as I tried this on that I needed to buy it.

I didn't know my grandfather well, due to him living the other side of the world and passing when I was young, but the memories I have are priceless.

Watch is lovely. I might actually look for one similar.

    Thanks.

    Very true.

It's absolutely solid too. Nice domed and raised AR coated sapphire. You'd think I was impressed with it.

    Not a problem.

The original model was probably a bit too small at 33mm so this new model is 42mm. It is pretty solid so no light weight. I was expecting a Seiko like chapter ring action on both chapter rings but I was pleasantly surprised. Screw down crowns would be my personal preference. The AR coating is a bonus. The lugs are a touch too thin but the 20mm lugs suit the design. There are a few deals around if you can find them.

Very special watch and what a beauty, enjoy it mate.

My late father had one very similar, unfortunately his was stolen along with his WWII medals and his fathers WWI medals before I could inherit them.
