One of my favourites, when I tried the display model on it was my favourite of the nautilus line up even over the 5740g.

Thanks, I’m really pleased with it. Tried it on in Geneva about 18 months ago and not seen one since, so I’m glad that it is as nice as I remembered.

Love it! I gave that one serious consideration but ended up going cheaper with an SKX009

It arrived today. First impressions, size spot on. Dials, hands, indices etc ditto. Case shape and polishing very nice. Slight disappointed it doesn't have a signed crown, not sure why I'm disappointed as this has never been an issue for me before, maybe its because my old 017 Alpinist had one? Strap, so so. This may be because Seiko have done that weird thing they do with deployant buckles and it's the "wrong way around". I'll swap it around and see how I feel, if no better then a Hirsch Lucca will be ordered for it.
For me it has a bit of an Omega Railmaster vibe going, well more than a bit, and with a large chunk of change left in your back pocket. I think the green version will be more striking visually, but perhaps a little less versatile regarding colour of shirts etc.
As an alternative to the other new 'Alpinist' models it is a more traditional size, and doesn't have the pointless for most and annoying for some compass bezel.
A keeper? For now definitely, not a catch and release. For ever? Hmmm.....
Edit: I've now fitted the strap the normal way around and already far happier with it, can live with the Seiko logo on the buckle being upside down.

A poor photo taken on a dull day of my new arrival, a Dornbluth 99.4 The dial is silver and the hands are blued, not that you can tell from the photo. It's a beautiful watch and one that I have wanted for a few years now and it really doesn't disappoint.

Congratulations. That is the model but with blue applied Numerals back in 2014 . Still love it and it’s sits in pride as my bedside clock in its wooden case.

    I do also wear it!

Thanks Paw. Mine has painted indicies, I have been thinking about having black applied markers fitted and even have a quote for 450Euros to do so, but now that I have the watch I am not , at least initially, as inclined to do it. The blued hands are quite subtle too but I will have to wait to see the watch in the sun or bright artifical light to judge whether applied markers are worth it to me.

The box is quite cool too, classy without being an oversized or silly excess.

Fresh from the FedEx truck, a quick photo of a watch I've been lusting after for a few years, which thankfully looks and feels great in the metal.

Latest for me this Scurfa Diver One in titanium - very impressed with the quality of construction, a proper stem seal, drilled lugs, sapphire crystal and all for around £250. Paul can’t be making much of a margin on them. Quartz for this one, a perfect grab & go watch.

You and me both! Hoping for the white dial on rubber by next summer. On the rubber it looks great. The AD can swap out the rubber it comes on for a smaller or a larger one which I only found out last week.

    Seamaster with white dial?

I can thoroughly recommend it (especially with a haggled discount)

Interesting. I've tried on the black twice and the white once, never looked at the other versions. I don't think there is a bad combo in that lineup but a bezel with more grip and the date at 3 (or a no date version like the ceramic) would be better imo. I'll ignore the HEV.

Either way they are incredible watches in their own right and even better once some discount has been applied. Omega's RRP across the board has gone a bit nuts recently.

The ceramic no date fits me the best but I've had a ceramic watch before (DSOTM) and it didn't feel like worry-free ownership. Would rather stick with steel.

I was really impressed with my new Casioak but the Strap adaptor and Khaki Rhinostrap take it next level.

Just got this the other day.

Czech issued Eterna not bad shape for a 76 year old watch. The gilt dial and the case makes this almost a time capsule.

  29. #11129
This mite not interest many but picked this up last month a Waltham advertisement window display. Jewelry stores in the old days that sold this brand would have this in the store front window for customers to set there watches for the correct time. This has a 37 size Waltham chronometer movement with wind indicator. Bought it because I thought it was a cool part watch history.

Next to a US Navy issued Waltham chronometer with same movement.

Some info some times you got to buy stuff that's just cool even if you can't put it on your wrist.

Nice... but you just posted it on a ‘Friday’ thread from January, which some muppet managed to drag up and revive.

No; some numpty dredged up a ‘Friday’ thread from January, and you mistook it for yesterday’s Friday thread, and posted to the wrong one!

    Irrespective... lovely example!

Dornbluth were quoting 6-8 months but I managed to find this minter for sale in the US. Its a full set and as new apart from a tiny hairline mark on the briushed bezel. It really is understated class but at 42mm, holds some presence. I absolutely love it! Waiting on a nice brown strap with contrasting stitching and boight a Dornbluth deployent to finish it off.

If you are thinking of buying one I would say go for it, the watch is everything I hoped it would be after pouring over photos of them for a good few years.

Well done, looks great. Was it the actual same piece (ie same serial number)? Best it cost a bit more now than you sold it for then. Don’t sell it again!

    The incoming, incoming!

I have this quite rare all 18k solid gold Speedy incoming!

I bought it preowned and decided to give it some TLC for my ownership by sending it off for service.

Not everyone’s taste, but being a yellow gold lover it pleases me! The weight/heft of this watch amazes me!
