Just picked up one of the remaining Newmark 71 that Ewan had available.

    Very impressed.

Great watch but I am interested why would you compare with a MM300? They are completely different watches IMO.

As the third person to leap to the assumption that I was comparing them - you win today's special prize of an annoying response: I wasn't comparing them - the Damasko's owner was selling to raise funds to buy an MM300 - not my cup of tea, but very much to my benefit since it gave me an opportunity to buy a watch I like a great deal for a very fair price! Surprisingly, I too have noticed they are not the same thing... We're all winners today

    Oooo touchy!
If we are giving our prizes...You win the biggest over reaction of the day.
As the third person to ask the same question, it might help if you could construct a paragraph and add some context to your statement it would stop you getting annoying questions?
It was only a question after all. I was just interested in your opinion.

Watch arrived last week, bracelet arrived today. First taste of Miltat/Strapcode - very impressed given the cost.

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

A grail watch for me! I’ve wanted one for years and this week I finally got one on my wrist!

To say I’m happy is an understatement! :)

    Thanks Darren!

Your statement was based on an assumption that everyone would know the back story to your Damasko purchase (unless you were just thinking aloud), which plainly wasn't the case. But thanks for clearing it up for us.

We might have to start following you in case we miss anything else that could help us avoid asking unnecessary questions.

Really interesting that the date number wheel is a different colour like on some Fortis Cosmonauts - I don't think the colour difference has ever been explained?

    Enjoying it so far?

Yes very much so - it’s a really good example of function over form - and no idea about the wheels. My French has come on leaps and bounds though!

Which have you been looking at?

Arrived on Saturday and many thanks to petay993 for getting it to me.

I doubt there are many watches out there offering such VFM.

Well, after wearing the same watch for 91 consecutive days (not happened for many years), I've finally taken delivery of a watch to replace the stainless steel 45mm Helson Shark Diver ETA. It's a new limited edition 45mm Bronze Helson Shark Diver with Jade Green face.

That's what I've spent the last two days researching, spurred on by the Sinn Vs Damasko thread. Lovely watch.

My old DC57 that I sold to Wooster. Great watch. Feel free to drop me a PM if you ever want to move it on.

Willdo. I'm loving it - still mint too - bought it to scratch the itch while waiting for a bespoke one-off, but I'm going to struggle to let this one go again unless finances go seriously titsup!

That looks great especially for the money. Really like the matte dial.

  31. #9531
I’ve been looking for one of these for a while and finally found one. I held one ages ago when I bought my first proper watch and really liked the feel of it and the dial.

It’s a Fortis GMT in PVD. 40mm with 20mm lugs.

Ordered one of these after being reminded of them in the recent small dive watch thread.

Absolutely gorgeous, and should be my mid-range diver to wear between the Seiko Padi turtle & BB58!

Only downside is it won't be shipped till May... :'(

    Stay safe folks

You are on a roll! Another great watch.
I have had one since 2006, I bought it brand new and I still love it. Mine is a luminova dialled version and the lume is Seiko bright. They are 40mm but because they are all dial they wear larger.
    Enjoy!

Received this in the post this morning from senraw (Karl).
I am very pleased with it, very good quality and functionality for the money. I had an ani/Digi scratch that needed itching and this covers that.

That was a great buy. I've always really like these and until recently didn't know they were still making them!

Might have to see if I can add one myself at some point down the line, love the quirkiness.

Wanted a Rolex Explorer 1016, but the prices are really silly, and I think this one is even better. What is more tool watch than a military issued smiths w10!

Very excited to receive my first DJ this morning courtesy of Vince to celebrate a milestone. It’s about a year older than I am but you wouldn’t know, it still looks stunning! Just can’t stop looking at the dial in the sun.
