Thread: The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

Full story of the restoration to follow, but this has arrived back from Brendan just in time to join me on a work trip.

    Drunken eBay wins.

Two out of three ain’t bad. The Seiko Ripley is still in Osaka...

I actually really like both of these. The Mudmaster is super impressive tech and probably literally indestructible. The Arnie is very cool, wears much smaller than 45mm implies but maintains the attractiveness of the classic. Properly clever implementation, the quality is right up there and (weirdly) I really like the gold accents.

Latest acquisition - Squale GMT Ceramica landed today. Really liking this! The bezel and face are quite striking.

I'll have to make some room in the collection for it though, so my recent Scurfa Bell Diver will be finding a new home.

Had been looking at getting a full metal G for a while but never quite pulled the trigger, maybe because I could never quite figure out which one I should get!
Anyway a late night impulse buy made my mind up for me and I don’t think I could be happier. Actually love the resin strap and the contrast with the shiny case. Also really like the reverse display as I think it goes well with the strap.
    Anyway a quick pic....

Mine is on my wrist tonight also, and I echo your feelings towards the shiny case contrast with the rubber strap. Also, the negative display had a really nice blue/purple-ish tinge to it.

Add that to just how practical it is, and it's a proper corker.

A seiko solar diver sold under the alba brand.

In the bag was a cardboard box the size of a large pack of butter. Other brands (Longines I’m thinking of you) could learn something here.

Congrats -- I'm forever curious about those daughter brands of Seiko and Citizen, but so far only got to own one Lorus (whose quality wasn't an inch behind Seiko, btw).

Re packaging, I'm 100% with you on that.

I can actually post something that counts as a half-new arrival -- bought this watch over a year ago and wore for maybe three weeks altogether, as it spent most of it's time in service or waiting for service. Got it back today and it finally looks properly fixed so I'm giving it a spin.

BTW, this Zodiac's wooden box weighs a tonne and is way overblown -- we could say the watch doesn't live up to the appearance they're trying to make.

Lovely looking watch. The more I see these CWC divers the more I like them. I may have to try one one day.

I purchased that one from you Ken! :)

It was a different model though.. It had the same Bakalite bezel insert, but had a standard hand set. It also had the Luminova (L) marked dial.

Crazy, too many watches traded over the years. Your new one does look nice.

I bought that from you, still have it, cracking watch. Like the thicker hands on your new one though.

Lovely. Missed out on the first batch through lack of funds so keeping an eye out and hoping for round two this year.

Fancied one of these for a while now, and required consolidating a few pieces to do so...

New strap. Changed the whole look / feel of the watch, and has genuinely convinced me to keep it long term.

The SBGK005 comes on a weird, overly long, thick shiny blue alligator strap.

I changed it out for something more subtle - a blue Santorini strap from A Collected Man.

Yes, I was very tempted when you first listed it Simon, but wasn’t in a position to go ahead at that time. Love the weight of it, and personally, I much prefer the oyster to the jubilee bracelet.

Traded the Zenith Doublematic for it, and was good to keep a world timer in the collection

Nice watch, I've a red dialled version.

I did have a little bid on that one if it was on ebay recently.
