Thanks Rajen. Can’t decide if it needs a bracelet option as well . Rubber is very nicely made and super comfy. Suits it too.

I have seen that Rubber strap. FWIW, I think it is superb and the orange accent suits the watch well. Unless, one is a strictly bracelet person, Rubber is a better option. Will look nice on a bracelet too but the rubber is so good.

Dial is signed ‘Tollet’ which is amusingly similar to ‘Toilet’

OK well this arrived today and unfortunately it has a large crack/chip in the crystal at 11:00 which isn't in the pictures. Not very happy. Will see what the seller says but I REALLY don't want to play the minefield of trying to find a competent watchmaker that will replace the crystal without messing something else up in the process. Might just send it back - I wanted to open it and wear it but already the experience has been ruined... wonder why I bother sometimes!

EDIT I’ve spoken to a watch repair place in York who will replace the crystal. It wears really nicely. The Landeron 49 movement is LOUD!! Very accurate too as far as I can tell currently. I didn’t realise it has fixed wire lugs too but I wanted to try it on a perlon anyway.

Hopefully the seller will do the right thing and compensate for the crystal. Will let you know... I little bit concerning that it arrived wrapped in bubble wrap only and it clearly hadn’t even been wiped down with a microfibre cloth.

Without question, not a chance this will be flipped. I wanted a watch for my 40th and been waiting ages for this.

    Polerouter inbound - sellers pic.

Although I like the date version and it's trapezoidal window, I just have too many non-quickset date watches already!

Wouldn't Seiko be feeling pride, rather than shame?

Depends. As a company yes, being part of Seiko Watch Corporation. However Lorus is at a very different price point so this is where they put their higher priced Seiko colleagues to shame.

Met up with my mate Wes aka Kippax earlier. Finally managed to persuade him to sell me this as he is off to live his BLNR dream tomorrow.

Not a watch, but a De Modell Speedy Rallye Strap very generously donated and sold by watchmad (Mark) for the fundraiser.

I bought it specifically to put on my Seiko SARB015 - it feels like a quality bit of kit.

    Bargain Beater Bonanza today:

L: Lanna Starfish v.5 - single crown supercompressor, Sweden, 40mm, Ronda 715 - £140 brand new extra silicon strap
M: Tauchmeister TO255 - Germany c/o HK I'm guessing, 52mm wide, 1000m rating, Seagull TY2806, will survive next apocalypse , also £140 new (less garish colour combos are available)
R: Dugena Diver's Friend - Germany, 44mm, full lume dial, quartz (no idea what yet), on a Jubilée Nylon strap from "cheapestnatostraps", £90

The build of each and every one of these has surprised and impressed, and minor though it is, each arrived with the correct time and date set - unlike ALL of the far more expensive watches I've bought!

Just ever so slightly shinny new looking, not jealous at all ... much, must give some of mine a little TLC.

I must say the jubilee bracelet is growing on me.

This arrived this week, it’s a bit of fun from the aptly named Walter Mitty watches (yes that is their name)
Not bad for the money and a nice sized 5517 homage.

Picked this up tonight. Have to say the jubilee bracelet is stunning, a small micro adjustment on the clasp and it was on the wrist. Such a relief to have the stickers removed on this one. Sit back relax and enjoy.
