This turned up brand new from Chronext on Thursday. Excellent service from them and I'd 100% recommend them.

I've lusted after the Club 701 for years and I've come very close to getting one when they turn up on SC now and again. It's a stunning watch and is a level up for me in terms of quality and finish. I'm over the moon! :-)

Did you manage to get one of those £250 d-blue dials that Rolex were flogging then?

Oooooo. That ticks black and red boxes for me.

$3360 at righttime.com, I see (I think that is a genuine company but don't take my word for it, was just DuckDuckGo-ing).

Lovely little GS Quartz finally picked up from the delivery office today. Terrific sunburst finish on the dial, extremely light, and the quality of the finish is excellent, even this is the 'entry level' piece. Very pleased.

The first full week with my Junghans Max Bill ref: 027/5703:00.

Its a magnificent little thing… 34mm, which is making me feel even more love for a smaller slimmer watch. As always though, appears larger with a lack of bezel and lighter coloured dial. Apparently it is 9mm thick, but that must all be in the plexi as it doesn't look it in any way.

The dial plays beautifully with the light as it is a matt silver plate, meaning its constantly changing with wrist movement. Also the dial is printed so crisply and right to the very edge. Very subtle, that the 12/3/6/9 hash-marks are slightly thicker, probably .5mm compared to the rest which are .3mm. Makes more a difference than you'd imagine and helps balance things out.

The hour/minute hands are also gold-plated, but have a thin black in-lay which you might not be able to make out it the picture… it really helps seeing the hands in any light and adds another layer of texture to the overall package. Again the black is filled the entire length to the very tip.

Very impressed with the whole manufacture, quality and design! Hope the picture helps to describes even more…

My biggest purchase this coming year is a max bill chrono. Such good looking pieces.

Not for me but my son is 18 in February, and he's a big James Bond fan.

I've bought him this off SC (he doesn't know yet but it should mean I can have my Gulf F1 back that he wears at the moment!)

Is that the OM on the Isofrane? If so it looked like a damn good deal; good catch.

By the way, if you check out my SOTC thread you will see that I still have your old Steinhart Marine Chronometer II and it's still looking good :)

Take a look at the Ocean 44 - I'm very fond of mine...

For no apparent reason the mainspring went on the Marine last year, but Paul sorted it out for me and it's keeping great time. Just love it...

    That...dial...is...amazing.

Have admired that watch for a while now. Though ended up going with the flow and picked up a 16570 last week (my 2nd, long story). Very pleased with it, though I must be getting old as I struggle to read it sometimes as the light coloured lume on white dial makes the hands look almost skeletal and hard to read!

It's a watch, isn;t that what you're supposed to do with it (well, at least when you want to know the time!)

    Seriously, looks pretty good.

as a few people on here know, I have many nice watches, ranging from Seikos to Rolex, and everything in-between,

When the Apple watch was released I despised them, but have recently needed a 'smart watch' as I get text/email alerts for Jobs, all day and can be up a ladder or in the middle of electrical work,

using an Apple watch, I can view the jobs and decide if I want to take them, on a twist of the wrist, a proper tool watch the Apple watch has become for me,

here it is, on its G-Shock type strap,

I have this incoming, a Hamilton Intra-Matic 38mm, I have one with the different colour dial and on leather,
I knew I shouldn't have bought that Mad Men box set for Christmas.
