I'm really not in buying mode at all these days, but I think this will be in the collection for some time to come. Thanks, Ryan.

Love the colours. Would like to turn the clock back a couple of years and pick one of these up.

Tried one of these on in London Heathrow a few weeks ago. I thought it was fabulous and one of those watches like a DateJust that would have great versatility! The strap fit and wrist feel were perfect.

    Congratulations!

That is such a good looking watch. It’s the only watch with gold highlights I have ever liked.

Thanks. Picked up from Learningtofly earlier. Its tall and pretty big but I love it. It exudes a vintage richness and hue. It's also superb quality

Should’ve have really put that information up with the watch!

I take it your looked at the really good thread that I attached…

I’ve been hunting one down for years…. But wanted the green and with a bracelet…. Probably THE rarest combo! I think I put my finger through my iPhone screen when it came up…. I’m delighted with it and the sweeping second hand and the gentle hum of the movement are wonderful!

I had to keep this under wraps for a few weeks, as good as my Wife is with this hobby I think two new watches in a week might have tested that good will just a little.

    A late 70s Seiko 7546-802J Silverwave.

What do you think, is it a keeper? Looking at this and the SLA019. Wondering if the SLA is more versatile.

Yes, cheap, reliable, good looking watch for casual, sporty wear, even can be dressed up. I find it better then my SKX

I love it mate. Just love it. It's hard to quantify but basically it's as if Seiko made a 60s diver using modern techniques but ensuring the watch is accurate to the 60s original. So it's like a super high quality vintage watch and a better execution that the Omega trilogy attempts I've owned. The indices are really well finished and the watch exudes superb light play kind of like what you get on a brilliant diamond but in this case with a sepia hue. It's wonderful. Some people have compared the finishing with Grand Seiko. I've owned many GS and they are IMHO finished to a higher standard than this but then again this is a pure tool diver not a dressy piece which is where GS differentiates itself.

Re SLA019 it's a lovely watch but notreally comparable as the SLA025 is made to a much higher standard and is far more retro in style and feel. But it is pricey. It is also a definite step up in quality from the SLA017. It is a tall bugger though so any less than 7 inch wrists and don't bother.

Just bought a Speedmaster Professional at Malta Int airport. Up for €4400 euros, i haggled down to €3300. Worked out at £2,920. They’re holding it until I return Thursday as well. Saves lugging the box over to the U.K. and back.

I am a latecomer to Panerai having just bought this very cool PAM0088. For many years this model has been one of only a few Panerais that really appealed and I am glad to say it hasn't disappoint in the flesh. Something very distinctive and a great strap watch for a bit of variety in my fairly conservative watch horde.

    Yep…. I believe we do…. I certainly admire a lot of the stuff I see you wearing…!!!

Green was the one I held out for…. Orange is lovely but potentially a little shouty for my tastes

Yes I think it is the better choice, I often worry with the Orange that it could be a bit much and could tire of it. The green is certainly more classic and I don't think I would ever not want to wear that.

Great watches, I still need one of these floating marker Longines. I've bid on so many but always get pipped by the last minute snipers on eBay.

A bezel not turning? Doesn’t really matter…. Who’d use it anyway?!

See we’d do have the same taste!!!

I’d personally go for a zodiac mystery disk instead of the Longines I think…. Super cool 😎!

Got a coke the other day. The lugs and bracelet are in need of some restoration so it’s off to Michael Young in HK.

Once it’s back, it’s off to Rolex for a service and jubilee bracelet!

You're paying for case work even if you don't have Rolex do it, so why not have Rolex do it rather than MY? Bracelet is a different matter of course.

From what I’m aware, Rolex won’t rebuild lugs on SS watches. I’ve heard they will on PM watches but not SS.

A very modest purchase, my first digital since sometime back in the 80’s.

Amazing value for £65. Especially considering what I’ve spent in the past on the likes of Omega and Tudor...
