Totally agree with you Paul, could become 'the' watch. Who needs three hands, setting, winding, fiddling with dates and moonphases when this does the lot.

It is my favourite of the current metal releases.

Typical new watch being delivered and I am going to be away for a few weeks!

Got this beauty arriving tomorrow. Love the 70s vibe, Skeleton dial (my first), titanium case and integrated bracelet.

Of course, I would love an AP Royal Oak but can’t afford one

Moser's "entry level" "ruffty-tuffty" sports watch. Pioneer Centre Second. 43mm stainless steel. 120m WR (rubber strap) . Display back. HMC 200 automatic movement, exactly as in the more expensive pieces except with a tungsten rotor in place of gold.

    I like it -- a lot!

Congrats. They work really well on the kudu strap as well. Worth a try to give a different look and very comfy.

Got my new Watch Gecko Geckota G-01 yesterday and wearing it today.
Sapphire crystal, a very wearable 42mm ex crown, drilled lugs for easy strap changing. Lovely applied markers and the gold against the teal goes well. Nice large crown, easy to set.

Great Hamilton field watch thanks to Brian R, just put it on a nice handmade vintage style strap, I think it looks made for it.

This is the 4th Sub I've owned as I keep selling them and end up regretting it, I've tried the new Ceramic one and just don't like the case shape. I always come back to one of these as I just love the proportions, even if it's not made as well as the new models

Good to see one is back on your wrist!

Can you elaborate on the build quality issues/improvements of the old and new? I've read similar before, but it's tended to lack substance in justification and usually revolves around the newer being heavier rather than actually higher quality?

    Very nice indeed.

Nothing wrong with the head of the watch necessarily but the bracelet is night and day different between a 16610 and a 116610, mainly the clasp and just how solid the new bracelet is too, I do actually prefer the Maxi dial on the newer model I just don't like the square case shape, I had a 116600 Sea Dweller which is almost the best of both worlds but stupidly sold that too a few months before they discontinued it, I would never have sold it if I'd known that. Still on the hunt for one of those as well.

You can't go wrong with either Subs to be fair they are just a very different look and feel on the wrist, like many my on here my preference is the pre-ceramic models though.

Have you handled both models? I think that would clear things up for you if you did, especially side by side.

Many thanks for that Vanguard - I've never held a ceramic Sub, so only have my pre-ceramic to imagine the differences with. The large shoulders are what took me towards the pre-ceramic back when I was shopping for one.

Traded a couple from my gradually shrinking stainless steel watch collection (I’m aiming to go all-titanium eventually) for this 2015 Omega Planet Ocean titanium 42mm with the 8500 coaxial movement. Less weight than the steel 39.5mm one I recently traded and a less shiny dial, I see that 6, 9 & 12 have a more curved font than the latest iteration of the blue dial PO too. I’ve taken off the titanium bracelet and put it safely away as will mostly wear on NATO or Zulu straps, this one’s a ‘thin blue line’ from West Coast Time in the USA.
    Cheers
    Steve

That's a beauty, the dial seems to retain a lot of their usual design.

Not vintage, it's a current model:

    Incoming Rolex 126660 D-Blue

Have to say this wears better than I had feared. The new bracelet make it look better proportioned and that dial is awesome.
