My first watch, in 1967, was a Seamaster, DeVille. £36-10s. What a rip-off. Only lasted twenty years, without a service. Then the hands fell off.

This is a fantastic piece of kit, I think the first time i saw one was when Java (ex of this parish) got one, loved it then and love it now and all the better for being by a great and very undervalued manufacturer.
Picked up a Zenith Doublematic a few days ago and absolutely love it!!
Alarm, big date, world timer and 30 minutes Chrono on an El Primero movement. The movement has 439 parts, 41 jewels, 50 hour power reserve and the alarm has its own barrel all wrapped up in a very wearable 45mm case with three crowns and three pushers which looks nicely balanced to my eyes
Did you not have (and sell) one of these before on the bracelet. Its a very elegant watch - love the depth of the dial !It's actually the 38.5mm version.

Yes Ben did Matt, and I bought it and love it! I think it looks great on the bracelet which is very comfy due to the small links hugging the profile of your wrist. I also love the bezel

The Omega is a good watch' but it's basic problem is this.....
That's the Datejust of course, and how many people would prefer the Constellation to the great classic? It's the same problem for Grand Seiko.

Joking aside, I had a stunning 116234 previously but just didn't bond. The Globemaster is the perfect size and weight. You should try one.

Look after it as it’s a great old Omega.
Also really like your other incoming, a 16600, I really want one but everytime the funds start growing I see something else. I must save!

How come the 'Rolex' writing around the edge always has an 'R' on the hour marker, except in the bottom right where it appears to be an 'X' on the hour? I was just admiring how it looked then noticed tis and can't figure out why!!
Picked this Rootbeer “Turdmaster” up on Thursday. I’ve never been a TT watch kind of guy but this thing is mesmerising.
You’ve got me there !! I hadn’t noticed. I will have to give it a good look this evening and see if I can offer any explanation
You clowns! This is quite normal. The R of Rolex aligns with the hour markers on one side, while the X aligns on the other. Just another of those secret little features for those of us "in the club" to know ;-)

I fitted this on instore, and must admit I was quite taken with it. It’s a stunning watch. Possibly next years if funding/ availability align !!Picked this Rootbeer “Turdmaster” up on Thursday. I’ve never been a TT watch kind of guy but this thing is mesmerising.
Lovely watch, but have you seen previous threads about wearing watches above the Ulnar Styloid --- and why wearing it as you appear to is not advisable?
