Seems strange to have a UK nuclear bomber on a Russian watch. After all it was Russia they were designed to attack.

I too thought it was odd when I first saw them but this is a Made in Russia watch, not USSR/CCCP. So both the original target of these aircraft and the aircraft themselves (apart from in museums) are ancient history. As things stand now, it's just a cool aircraft to put on the dial of a watch. Whether or not there was a particular special occasion to prompt the Victor watch I don't know, though.

Vostok did a watch to celebrate Desert Shield/Desert Storm, as I recall, and that was actually in the USSR era. (However, on DuckDuckGo-ing just now I see that this one (Desert Shield) may have been a commercial deal with a US businessman).

Perhaps not quite as muted as in this photo, but it is the dial and bezel that catch the eye. The version with white dial and rose gold case looks utterly different, the balance reversed.

I didn't know what aircraft it was meant to be, I assumed all their watches had Russian tanks / subs / anti-aircraft / aircraft on them.

Well this was an impulse purchase. Saw it just sitting there in the Omega boutique in Tokyo.

A real surprise as we were told these were all sold out and allocated!

You beat me to it! Why is there a Victor on the dial? (Apart from it being one of the coolest looking planes ever!)

That’s an interesting complication! Think Casio also made a clock version.

    Edit, here it is:

Perhaps there was a squadron / unit tasked with shooting down V-bombers, oh and yes the Victor was as the coolest ever

Thanks! It's a 1974 145.022. Few bits to sort out with it but overall very pleased, the hands and dial are lovely IMO!

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

My Halios Seaforth bronze (blue dial) arrived today. My first Halios and must say I am amazed by the quality! Case has sharp lines and very nice and differently finished sections. Top hat like crystal is a dream and the dark blue dial is of a deep stunning colour.

The hands and indices match the case well. A nice and calm design that seems to work.

Comes with a nice travel case and extra strap as well. Already ordered another strap from Pavel here that I hope to fit soon!

Very shiny now, will be great to see the patina develop over time.

These are my two newest incoming (non-Seiko) 7A38's ....

Variations on a theme - the borderline fugly FRED Force 10. Subtle it ain't.

Now all I need is one of those naff Force 10 wire bracelets to go with it. Not.

Having slagged off their reissue for the use of fauxtina, I felt a sudden urge to try one of these in it’s authentic patina.

It’s a fantastic runner at -4spd and is wonderfully light but with the reassurance that it can still take some abuse. I’m very impressed - can you tell?

I love that. I have just returned from japan and had this on my wrist twice but resisted seeing as I have had two significant incomings in the last month. Seeing it again I am having regrets. So let me know if you get bored.
