BLRO on oyster is a clear step above the jubilee, very nice.

Glad to hear that. I requested the jubilee but got the oyster instead.

Trip back to the UK has been put back six weeks, which is not ideal when it’s sitting in the ADs safe awaiting collection.

Personal preference and I don't own one but have friends with both and have tried them on. Would be oyster for me no question.

Not strictly an incoming but after months of waiting, I finally got the black bezel and bracelet for this and to be fair, it does feel like a new watch altogether.

Out and about with a new arrival. Love the colours of the dial and the brushed bezel looks great. The adjustable clasp is a huge improvement on the standard BB bracelet - it's easy to get a perfect fit. Just wish it didn't have the rivets. It's a bit thick but this is by no means a deal breaker, even on my small wrists.

    Looks good on you.

They are a great looking watch, I just don't get the rivets on the bracelet.

Vintage manual wind Omega today. Incredible dial colour. Changes from blue to purple to almost black.

Does anyone know the model reference? It is 50 years old apparently.

Recently acquired a BB58 and I’m not that fussed about the rivets either way - but they aren’t noticeable when wearing imho. They look like carbuncles in photos but In real life they’re tiny.

A long time ago, in a colony far far away, a young man walked into a watch boutique and for the first time in his life clapped eyes on a Jaeger le Coultre Reverso.

It was love at first sight, and the beginning of an obsession with 'proper' watches. But unaccountably he didn't buy it.

Although he never forgot that moment or the Reverso, for some reason around 30 years passed before he finally acquired one.

    Behold a keeper :)

    Couple of incomings recently.

Got the call to pick up the latest EXP2. After selling my last one, I am delighted to have one back in my box.

Also, something a little different from Germany.

A real classic. Looks great - enjoy it at last! I'm getting increasingly tempted by a Reverso but I always think they're too smart for my usual scruffy attire!

Lovely, Gav. Do you notice much difference between this one and the previous 216750?

Thanks pal. To be honest, not really. I know the lugs are slimmer but you can hardly tell. The most notable difference is the clasp is bigger but again, not much in it.

The latest in the search for the perfect beater - the Apeks chrono. Big sticker on the caseback telling you to screw the crown down. It doesn’t have a screwdown crown.

Seiko movement with a 12hr chrono (none of this ability to count pointlessly small fractions of a second before stopping at 1hr) and seiko like lume for little over £100. What’s not to like?

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

Since selling my SKX I wanted something that could do anywhere, do anything and have a bit of unique character. The CWC GS with tritium dial and CWC Natostretch strap are ticking every box.

Well I can't quite believe that I have been fortunate enough to have finally collected this beautiful watch.

It has been a huge ambition of mine to secure one of these and a massive thanks must go out to the team at my local OB for allocating to me one of the very few pieces they have received.

Looks pretty cool, an early 70's I would think. You could try going through the catalogues on http://www.old-omegas.com/ to try and find reference.

My personal feeling is that bracelet has been replaced at some point, it looks too different than what was typically found on those models. It does suit it though and I could be wrong there.

I agree and I ordered one, the version with the polished elements.

Stock strap is great quality but very stiff.

This arrived last week via SC. It’s my third Tudor Pelagos 25500TN and a full set from 2014 that looks to be unworn. It’s also running at plus 5 seconds a day, which is great for a watch of this age that hasn’t been serviced. I intend to get it serviced later this year.

I love the matte black dial and the contrast with the white hands and hour plots. Likewise the brushed titanium case and bracelet. I prefer this first generation model with the ETA 2824 movement and just two lines of text occupying the bottom half of the dial, as opposed to four lines on the current model with in-house movement.

It’s just a comfortable daily wearer that I can enjoy looking at even when I don’t particularly need to know the time.

These are a great watch. I prefer the look of the ETA to the later in house movement. Less text and more balanced with the 3 o clock lume pip.
I have had mine since new and will never get rid of it, I wanted one as soon as it was released and got it soon after.
All these years later it still keeps great time, has the best lume out there bar the modern Tunas and the bracelet adjustment is still far ahead of most of its competitors.I am not a fan of the rubber strap though.
    Enjoy!

I love it for the same reasons you do. I remember buying a Tudor Hydronaut full set off SC several years ago. (Never see them on the forum now). After it was serviced it ran at plus one second a day so I know what Tudors with ETA movements are capable of. Never fancied one with the in-house movement and the additional text on the dial. As you say, the rubber strap isn’t great, though it would look good on a Haveston canvas or most Nato straps. Dare I say this could be a keeper?
