    New Rolex purchase

    My first new Rolex purchase.
I've had a few Rolex previously but always on the used market as they used be cheaper.

Now as we all know it's much cheaper to buy new Rolex for most models.
I asked if I could be added to the interested list for a Rolex Oyster Perpetual .

So one year later I have just collected my new OP 41 in bright blue.

On collection the dealer asked if I would like to have a look at any other Rolex. They had 30 in stock for display.

I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Rather have that than a mint MM300. I went back and looked at the pics, apart from the tiny mark on the bezel insert it’s immaculate. The SLA033 and SLA039 are pretty much perfect.

Kibblewatches have the 039 used for £3,150 on the wrong strap but I still have the memory of this which was refunded when they realised it was out of stock.

This has just been delivered by the postie
Normally I am not a Tag Heuer fan but have always wanted to try one of these
I have to say first impressions are very favourable and I think it will get a lot of wear.

I wears a fair bit smaller and lighter than the MM300 I took off on it’s arrival.

New to me today. I've dithered and missed it when this has been sold here previously so glad I pulled my finger out this time.

My first impressions were the same. I was expecting a beast to come through the door but it’s perfectly wearable for everyday.
Watch out though as you’ll end up looking for a Heuer one in no time with full diving kit. ££££ lovely watch.

Agreed, they are the two best watches in the lineup. I was amazed that the 33 sat on SC for so long. Maybe I was too revealing with the pics or they just aren’t considered the real deal by many who haven’t handled one.

Been wearing mine all week, coincidentally, as it's just come back from service at Tag. My usual watchmaker hasn't got the tools to open it, so the cost was a little eye-watering, but in theory it's back to its 1000m depth rating. I think the nearest I have to it is my 600m ezm2.
    Anyone fancy a swim?

I was lucky to pick up a Honeycomb Everest from Timefactors during the last store opening, and have been wearing it on this German Fluco Hunter Whiskey strap.

Depending on the light, the dial appearance ranges from highly textured to flat black.

The hour numerals and markers almost seem to be applied or raised because of how they contrast with the textured dial.

The minute markers are also on a flat, untextured outer ring, so the contrast with the inner dial, along with the distorted, blue-tinged light from the crystal, can make this outer ring seem raised and curved at times.

The shade of the Light Old Radium lume also varies with viewing angles, but even at its most pronounced is in my opinion fairly subtle and tasteful, and suits the watch well.

Apologies for my clumsy iPhone photos. And thanks, Eddie, for such a great watch.

I might be making this up but I’m sure crazyp asked me before why I didn’t go for it but I had a load of stuff going on at work and by the time I went back for a look it was withdrawn.

Went on eBay earlier to see what was around and only one for £3k. Dreamland.

Yea i think so....honestly i think the 033 looks best out of that lineup, one I still want, but may never quite manage to buy.

Bought a lumeless snoopy timex off SC a while back thinking I could solder it. Apparently not.
Managed to bag another one from forum member who happened to live around the corner, kismet!

    Childishly delighted.

Not so much a new incoming per sé, back from an AP service and had a dial swap back to what it should’ve been (had a silver dial previously). It’s stunning and the decision to sell it has been negated now.

That is very cool. I do wish Sinn would stick with a single unbroken colour for the seconds hand but I really like that watch and follow the hashtag on IG.

Arrived yesterday but it’s my birthday present so can’t wear it officially until the end of the week. Had to make sure it worked though…

Looking forward to the ensuing strap shenanigan bankruptcy.

That's gorgeous. I love the sandwich dials on the Panerais, and the clarity of course.

PAM00321 it ticked all the boxes that I wanted from my ultimate Panerai.
44mm, Sandwich dial, non aged lume, small seconds with zero feature, 12 hour gmt, power reserve, in house movement (P9002), 300m w/r and display back.

This one showed up on WoS pre owned and I spent days agonising over it until the wife got fed up and said get it for your birthday.
Went to buy it and it had disappeared. Spent more time wondering if the aged lume on the 1321 was a deal breaker as Bucherer had them in stock and was about to push that button when this one popped back up.
Kismet, fate and the planets aligning were not to be ignored and the card was slapped minutes later.
