I wanted a rugged quartz watch for weekend DIY, gardening, etc

Loved the look of this and it arrived today - it's lovely. Incredibly light!

Luminox Sea Turtle Giant, 44mm, reference XS.0323. Date complication a bonus and really legible. Lume looks good, will post some lume shots in appropriate thread in a bit. Uni-directional bezel with lumed pip. Rubber strap looks and feels great. Very happy with this on first impressions!

Two arrivals today thanks to Toddy and Wileeeeeey.

First a Seiko SKX399. I have always wanted a Seiko with square markers. I am a sucker for Seiko watches but never managed to find a proper model with these type of markers. The 7002 can be a minefield if aftermarket parts so I was happy to learn (here) about the SKX173 and the more rare SKX399 with metal surrounds on the markers. After a WTB this one quickly arrived.

Then the SNE497P1 deal was posted here and Wiley was kind enough to buy one and post it here (I live in the Netherlands, no John Lewis).

Love the gold accents on this great solar powered watch!

Absolutely, definitely one to keep by the beside!

Saw the lume on your new Nacken, with the whole dial lit up - looks incredible. Enjoy! It has been added to my ever-growing list...

No more faffing around adjusting for a 30 day month

My last purchase of 2018 / first arrival of 2019. I had been watching this for a while and even bid on it but didn't reach the reserve. It came up again and I took another bite at the cherry. Mine for just £10 more than my previous offer.

    on Flickr

Had my doubts as I had traced it back to an old auction on another site when it was located in the Philippines but there was no reason to worry, she looks smashing. The dial appears almost black until it catches the lights and then there is a flash of electric blue. Day and date advance, hacking works and, most importantly, so does the Presmatic button . A bit of polywatch and somehow remove the stain on the hour hand and she'll be as good as new. Not sure if the bracelet is original but it does have "Seiko" stamped on the clasp. To early to tell how she runs.

A good start to the new year.

    Got this beauty for Christmas.

The Elliot Brown Holton, Project 354.

This watch was developed in collaboration with a specialist branch of the British armed forces.

The Holton is the first military issue watch to be created by a British watch company in more than ten years.

This is one of only 15 made in this Dial / case variation.

Naturally I have mounted it on one of my own SA80 Sling straps.

Spotted this in H Samuel at half price, would have been silly not to buy it. Couldn't get a good fit with the supplied strap as the holes are too far apart, so put it on a Hadley-Roma Kevlar, should look good on a Nato as well.

    Breitling content

Bought a Breitling Navitimer today from Andrew Micheals watches in Newark.
Having just lost my mum I decided to buy this watch to be engraved with something about my mum.
Would like to thank the AD who was able to give me a25% discount.
Here’s a few pics of the watch which has know been put away in the safe and won’t be worn until her funeral later in the month.

It’s the 46mm with open caseback on bracelet.

    Regards
    Colin.

I picked this up today from Chabsy on the forum, I had been looking for one for a while and am delighted with it. In perfect condition with very little wear, part of me wants to lock it away to keep it perfect but I did buy it with the intention of wearing it regularly.

Very comfortable, quite fancy one of these watches in blue now, amazingly good value.

    Rootbeer

So whilst on holiday last week, I popped into the local AD after something caught my eye in the window display. After about an hour of going "ooo - ahhh - wow", I walked out with this... (plus stickers + warranty card!!!). The only problem is that I am now confused as to whether this is better looking or my Batman...

No kidding, right?! It totally took me by surprise. AD said it had arrived the day before, and I was surprised it had lasted that long. I suppose everyone else was more interested in the skiing and renting their boots/skis at the Intersport next door!

A lovely new arrival and something very different for me, a blue rectangular dial
with a GMT / mechanical alarm function, that is an absolute peach. Very comfortable and a great size I'm very pleased with it so far.

After years of thinking about it, I finally splashed out on a Speedmaster. It's the smaller 38mm reduced but I already have a lot of other larger watches so I thought I could get into the Moonwatch thing without having to splash out too much (yes, I appreciate that the automatic isn't actually a Moonwatch but I'm sure you know what I mean). From 2001 in very good condition.

I've fancied a pilots watch for a while, so finally took the plunge and added to my collection. I bought it on the bracelet, but got the leather strap too.
