Local AD was selling this Neo Plus at 50% discount,
which seems fair as a hand has fallen off.

Got this as a walk-in today and amazingly got a small discount too. Thought these were unobtainable but I guess not. Love it!

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

The watch on the right arrived today having managed to get a BF bargain from a dealer near me. Seiko sharp edge series with Shironeri white dial. I removed the bracelet and fitted an aftermarket IWC blue strap which matches the blue seconds hand nicely.

Yes. Considering the price point, Seiko really does know how to make dials. I actually took the pic to send to my brother with the same observation.

I bought this in a hurry as I was passing on Saturday and didnít expect to like it as much as I do. Swapped the excellent OEM canvas for this TF grey nato.

Lovely! Similar to one of the Mk2 limited editions, I think. But a little nicer colour blue iirc.

[QUOTE=uktotty;5879897]Went a bit nuts at the auction today.

All a bit weird and quirky, the Hulk went for £18,000 plus 25% so out of my budget

Two watches Iíve been eyeing up for awhile now, Iím interested in your thoughts on living with them

I bought the same model earlier this year. Seconds hand hit all the markers and it gained no more than a few seconds per month. Pretty impressive lume too. Only slight negative is the tiny date window. At £299 before discount, itís hard to think of anything else that comes close in terms of value.

I focused on that slowly enough to think 'well that was pred... oooh! If anything it just shows how right Rolex got it so many years ago, but I'm not surprised you enjoy it. What I want to see is a Rolex modded the other way - that would be hilarious!

After a few months of searching, I've finally pulled the trigger on an Omega 2535.80.00
Did the deal on Chrono24 with a very courteous German seller.
Now to keep looking out my window until it arrives.

I do need to source a blue rubber Aquaterra strap now though.

The final piece arrived today. Not bad for £11.40 off eBay considering the Hamilton buckle, also 16mm cost over £30!

Strap looks the part completely now

Also didn't notice the subtly sharp transition from polished to brushed on the side of the case until recently. This is fast becoming one of my new favourite watches in the box. Each watch has some historical significance / unique thing about it which I really enjoy.

Surprised this watch has attracted so little comment in its various appearances - I think it's absolutely gorgeous, and has a uniquely Japanese feel to it that so few actual Japanese watches ever do, and yet (to me, at least), it doesn't feel forced or contrived. A stunner of a thing.

If you're feeling brave, a Hirsch Duke in metallic blue would suit that watch to a tee -

...or more conservatively, a Hirsch Tiger:

  22. #15022
Hmm you're definitely right about the Japanese aesthetic without coming off too strong. Had not thought about it like that but makes perfect sense. It sort of embodies everyday Seiko in a way that's within reach of pretty much everyone without having to get an equally complex dial design by having to buy a GS for mid 4 figures.

On the strap though, it's gonna have to stay rubber for me. Not a fan of leather especially as they age and look a bit rank over time on the underside especially with summer heat!

The 2nd one looks nice though but not sure about stitching and the rubber inlay as have seen similar in the past that the glue wears off and the sections begin to peal. Tropic for me just adds a bit of smart casual/sportiness that works with smart clothing as well as casual!

Both great pieces. Had my Bell Diver for a year now, it's a very comfortable watch, considering the larger size. Also have a couple of D1's for knocking around in. Very understated brand.

You are right, a perfect pairing. Are the lug ends of the Joseph Bonnie rounded? I have a TROPIC brand strap and the rubber is exceptional, but I am disappointed with the sharp cut ends which leave odd gaps at the case. If JBs are round I might give them a try.

Yeah they are rounded. Having checked out almost all other tropics these were the only ones that had the rounded edges and a more rounded face layer so suited round watch cases too.

Even after all these years the speed of RMSD astonishes me ;)

Good to see its got a jumper sleeve to disappear up. One morning at the start of this year I spent a good five minutes trying to find that watch before I realised that I was already wearing it buried under a thick jumper, too light and thin for me to notice

I bought that watch with the intention of wearing it all the time and exposing it to what little rough and tumble there is in my life, but as you can see from its condition, my nerve failed me, and it got babied

Thanks, I am totally smitten. Quality is just superb. I couldnít find anything nicer out there even if I had 5 times the budget.

Gotta stop buying CWs. Thatís 5 this year which includes my sons first proper dive watch.

No new watches, but finally back in the UK, so can attach some of the straps I had made or bought.

Not a fan of the supplied hybrid and NATO, so this was crying out for an EO Black Ops.

Also on a red Cordura with black hardware.

And I asked Enzo for a custom build for the EM001. I was going to meet up with him as we live pretty close to each other in Vietnam, but the watch was in the UK, so had it shipped there.

    Beast of a thing!

I first found about this cool watch when it was released in 2012 and thought I would like one someday. I recently watched the Space Dive documentary and got the bug again so went looking only to find there are very few around. Fortunately, I was lucky to score this mint full set from a UK seller. To give the watch its full and ridiculous name, it is the Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback Striking 10th Tribute to Felix Baumgartner. The flyback 1/10 second Chrono function is fun and unique, but more importantly, it is impressively well made and wears well on the rubber strap. There is a lot to keep the eye interested as the dial has depth and colour which with double AR, is always striking.

Great looking watch. How is the reflection on the dial? I couldnít handle it on the BB Chrono but donít remember it being in issue on my regular BB models beforehand.

This arrived this morning and is already on my post-hospital wrist.

I've been considering one for quite a few months and did a deal with a reasonable and very courteous seller on Chrono24.

It's one that may slow down my rotation for a little while. Comfortable, legible and sporty and unusual enough to be just a little different but still very recognisably a Seamaster.
