Two line text is eta. There are very minor differences, in house has two more lines of text in the dial and the marker at 3 looks different (which they did brilliantly on the ETA I must say, the white date is a part of the 3 marker)

Newer model has in house movement, 5 lines of text in dial instead of 2 and bizarrely has no lume at three o’clock whereas the ETA one does

Going a little off topic now, used there's a significant price difference between the two... Is the in-house movement thought to be that much 'better'?

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

Just brought home this beauty. Felt like it was the right watch to start with....but then got carried away and also “ordered” a BB58 which hopefully should arrive before Christmas!

Purchased a couple of weeks ago off the forum without a strap, now on a geckota nato. Hasn't had much wrist time yet as I haven't told the wife about it but it's only a matter of time!

Bought this from a Friend who needed to realise some cash quick. My second 2 tone DJ but this one the 16233 is amazing, definitely prefer the saphire crystal, in my opinion it’s a true timeless classic that embodies what Rolex is all about.

Got this after my wtb for a minimal polished oysterquartz came to fruition.
I didnt get minimal polished but completely unpolished with a Buckley dial so I am beyond thrilled as I've missed having an oq since selling a few years ago.
    Very pleased.

It’s a fantastic runner at -4spd and is wonderfully light but with the reassurance that it can still take some abuse. I’m very impressed - can you tell?

Much better buy than the reissue, especially when it generally costs less too. Only reason to choose the reissue imo is if you want water resistance. Thats a nice one.

Oh well if there’s ever a watch to trade it for then I suppose the ALS is an excellent candidate. Enjoy it, it looks like a beauty

Seriously, I'd be interested in your appraisal and photography of these two. The GS I own and I'm currently debating whether or not to keep it. It's a stunner and very difficult to photo (I had to get help). The ALS I consider to be one of the most beautiful watches ever made but I will never own one so it would be great to see some proper pics, if you have time.

Cheers. Got it from Bicester Village, with extra "Privilege" discount. Was the only GMT that caught my eye in the shop. It's 42mm. Wears well. And I have small wrists.

Picked up this lovely thing from Fawad of these pastures last week. First outing to work and it looks stunning.

Only problem is having to take it off to look at the back!

    Sorry for my terrible photography...
