Well, this is totally unlike watches I usually buy but, I was mesmerised by the dial and the few YT vids I reviewed and couldn't resist. The only trouble is, with a dial like this, my extremely low level of photographic skills are completely inadequate to capture the colours and hues of the dial. A thing of beauty for sure but whether or not I bond, I'm not yet sure.

Forgive the normal wrist and cat hair....

This arrived today courtesy of a fellow forum member. I've wanted one since seeing the release photos, but still long after the run was sold out.
Spotted this one in the background of another sales post & one prospective PM later and it's now mine - Never hurts to ask!

What I most like about this is the mix of military style, with an almost Bauhaus simplicity that gives it a really contemporary feel. It reminds me quite a bit of the Ventura V-Matic EGO Chrono. At 38mm it's a great size for everyday wear and the sort of size I've been trending towards of late.

    SBGP015.

Bought one in Dec. Sold it a few weeks later. Realised what an utterly brilliant watch it is after selling it so bought another but due to the scarcity had to pay £1k more to get one from the only UK AD that had any left.

Suspect it will hold its value now but what a brilliant watch and with the superb 9F85 movement too.

After a six week (but worthwhile) wait, a Dekla Turbulenz arrived today. Further thoughts to follow on an appropriate thread.

Actually, this might be a better effort - hence the edit

Sorry - brain freeze. Meant to edit the original post above, not quote the thing in its entirety. Apologies.

Something Blue from Steinhart. Clearly a homage to the early 70's Tudor Submariners. 39mm case, stunning Marine Blue bezel insert, Blue matt dial and the all important acrylic superdome crystal. The markers and hands are a sensible mellow tritium colour rather than the darker faux patina used on other watches.

    a poem for her

Even Steinhart know not to ruin it with faux rivet bracelet. Could teach Tudor a thing or two perhaps.

Continuing the theme of blue watches and faux rivet grief here's something I picked up today spur of the moment as a birthday present to myself...

Alexander Shorokhoff Regulator arrived this morning. Initial impression is that it’s batting well above its rrp.

My first watch purchase in over 18 months, and the cheapest watch I’ve bought in the last 20 years.

I love it. Simple design, nice size (42mm/22mm), light and most importantly, extremely legible. This being the main reason for the purchase as my eyes have failed terribly over the past few months.

This could be the eventual turning point in my thought process moving forward?

Had the orange-lumed version - an amazing watch for a bargain price, typical of most Citizens IME.

Feel your pain with the eyesight, too - I have some watches lined-up to sell because, love 'em as I do, I can't read 'em properly without specs.

Aviator and (some) dive watches are your friend - Damasko, Sinn, Dekla, Archimede &c.

Thanks for the comments. I believe the model number is - BM8476-31E

I’ve changed the strap out for a black nylon until I can find a duller looking beige. The supplied one is a little shiny.

This arrived this afternoon from Sales Corner.

After wanting a military watch for years, it always came back to this.

It's and been on since arriving....and I'm loving it!

I've never noticed a new watch on my wrist less, in a good way.

Ooh very nice. You’re gonna need a bigger watch box.

Just looking at this online with big discounts and the anniversary model looks great too. Must resist.

These are excellent watches. Very legible. I think the factory strap is great. Put mine on the dark green version.

This little number arrived yesterday. Advertised as "immovable" but with a new battery it leapt in to action. It hasn't lost or gained anything in 24hrs.

Thrilled with it so far. First Explorer II yes.

But unfortunately it means my recently acquired IWC Mk. XV might have to go as I hadn't really intended such a purchase...
