The strap is a tenner on eBay, but they are good ones for the money, I’ve had a few over the years, link here:

The blue is nothing like the stock photo. In bright light, such as outside in the daytime it could pass as black. In soft light, as in indoors in the evening, it appears more blue but it’s a much deeper blue than the stock photo suggests. It’s almost like two watches - at times a black & white one, at times a blue & silver one.

Many thanks to electorn for this arrival today

I'm giving the bracelet a run out to see how it feels. I quite like it but an Uncle Seiko waffle or tyre tread mght be the answer, or even the GL831 that came with it

At the end of 2020, I spotted the Dailos Waveform being reviewed on a number of watch YouTube channels.

I was very taken with it for a number of reasons.

Firstly it was an affordable Titanium diver, something I'd been hunting for for a while, but nothing else had really appealled.

Secondly, I really liked the look of the teal dial, something that I didn't have in my watch box.

Finally, the bezel caught my attention, being ceramic, but designed to match the titanium case and with applied rather than engraved markings. I thought it was really different and very attractive.

I missed the Kickstarter price, but still got it at a pre-order price and it arrived yesterday.

    First impressions are very positive.

The case, bezel and dial finish are excellent, the overall effect being even more attractive first hand than the videos and photos had suggested to my eye.

Notice, too, that they went to the trouble of matching the date wheel colour to the dial! Even Sinn can't manage that...

It came in a box with a lovely soft watch roll, too.

I will probably not get a chance to resize the bracelet until tomorrow, but so far it's looking like a good choice (one of three Kickstarter watches I'm expecting in the next few weeks).

This arrived on Friday for my birthday. It’s a present for our 20th anniversary. I’ve always wanted one was thinking about getting a 2001 model but in the end went new as all my other watches have been used.

Loving it and the bracelet on the 2021 is super comfy.

    Cheers, Shaun

Looks great. I really fancy the new sapphire sandwich. The new movement is a fabulous upgrade imo.

    60th Birthday Incoming:

It was my 60th birthday last week and I wanted to mark the occasion with something a little different and was offered the chance to buy a 1981 CWC G10 non lumed Navigator, which were exclusively issued to nuclear submarines. Apparently the tritium on the normal lumed version caused problems with the radioactive detectors on board, so the dial and hands were simply done with white paint and that also explains the absence of the circled T.

According to those who compile the various records of these watches, only 13 of these fat case watches were issued across 1980 and 1981 and so far the whereabouts of only 3 or 4 of those are currently known about.

Here is a picture with a 1980 lumed Navigator.

My other incoming was a Mersey Travel pass issued to ‘older people who live in the Merseyside area’. This enables me to travel down to Chester up to Southport after 09:30 for free by bus, train and ferry. Not a bad freebie, but I honestly don’t feel like an older person.

Thanks John, wasn’t an easy decision and I certainly won’t be competing with the serious guys over on the MWR, but will keep an eye out for any 80-82 fat cases that come up for sale that I haven’t got. Sort of like my version of the WWW watches

Awesome watch, subtly different and totally under-the-radar cool. Happy birthday.

I’m enjoying the trend to smaller watches and it’s interesting seeing what a man would have worn in the 1930s. My newly acquired Jaeger LeCoultre Etanche.

After giving up ever getting one of these at rrp I paid a small enough reasonable premium.

This came about via a WTB and I am a happy chappie.

Thank you, I thought if I don’t buy it now I am unlikely to get a second chance. The dial really works well, the stark white paint against the matt black dial is really clear, even in low light.

It would be nice to try for the ‘81 trio. Just need a lumed Navigator and a 0552 Fatboy now

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

Just noticed this Ken , so belated Happy Birthday to you!

Sounds like you’ve sourced yourself a cracking new unusual piece there, and, as usual, you’ve done plenty of research behind it.

Good luck not falling too far down that rabbit hole!

With the arrival of your new pass, I presume you’’ will be taking the opportunity to test it with a trip to Mr Wood’s emporium, as well as visiting the scene of Haywood’s sleuthing capers, to test the geographical limits!

Hopefully the new travel pass will not curb your enthusiasm to perambulate the banks of the Mersey!

Blue dial AT 38mm. Been wanting one for a while and yet another blue incoming over the past week or two. As with a lot of blue dials, this can go from almost matt black to a vibrant blue depending on the light.

Yes indeed. I love the bb58 blue so much, thanks for keeping it in TZ. I have the white dial SMP300 diver but I'll be honest I did consider buying your black dial but I really have to calm down on the watch buying. GLWTS!

    Thanks Pete,

Still walking, but I have tended to keep off the prom during the pandemic. A mixture of idiots who should be at work and people walking out of control little dogs on washing lines instead of dog leads does make it a place to avoid at present.

I got to try out the new pass for the first time last Saturday during a birthday night out in Liverpool. I’ll maybe use it more when the remaining restrictions are lifted.

Thanks Tony. Really pleased with this and the OP I bought from you but it does mean other watches need to be moved on now. I have to be a bit more ruthless with those that aren't really being worn.
