I am the latest owner of a Sales Corner favourite, very comfortable due to no crown and the strap that Tony (LTF) put on it. The hum is an unusual feature. I put it down on a hard surface and you could hear it vibrate.

Had been on the lookout for an Oysterquartz for quite some time, so when this came up I pounced. Chuffed to bits with it, definitely a keeper! Factory bevels still present, crisp bezel ridges, most likely unpolished. Will get a ligth polish and restoration of the brushed finish within short.

Well done Ryan - I wondered if you were really going to get one or not after you procrastinating and then getting the blue EVO.

Congratulations on one of my favourite watches of all time! Not just the Aerospace (of which I have had 5 or 6), but the cobra yellow one!

    Fantastic watch. Mental. Fantastic!!

That looks like a stunning combination Ryan, I can fully understand why you were after that combination....only problem is now I want one!

Cheers. It's utterly brilliant. Well worth the outlay. I actually didn't realise there were 2 versions in the UK (and only the UK), on the brown strap and deployant for £4220 RRP or on black rubberised military and Buckle for £3680 (which is this version).

I will go and get the brown canvas as well but the yellow on black gives a cool 'waspish' look to it.

Let's face it, it's utterly bonkers but in a really cool way and I think I will keep this one, I know I'm a terrible flipper but this one makes me smile when I look at it. I'm glad I went for it in the end which only goes to show that the most expensive watch you buy is the one you bought instead of the one you really wanted.

    I absolutely love it

Not a big fan of much that Rolex make, but that does look good and in excellent condition (a very good photo too, always helps :) ).

I like the numbers, which I'm sure some will say detract.

    I received it yesterday
    It was that

    Today is that

But I'm looking for genuine leather/home made strap
    Any suggestions ?

  25. #925
only a strap rather than a watch, but I picked up this Bamford canvas, leather-backed NATO last week, and I think it suits my IWC perfectly. (It needs a thin watch, as the double thickness behind the watch head makes the watch stand away from the wrist a bit.)

Looks a bit pushed to the back of the wrist here!

A little delicious something from the SC, an early sixties Longines manual

Perfect for loafing about with. I don't have a huge collection, so this is going to get plenty of wear

Thank you both - and thank you to everyone for not buying it from SC while it worked its way into my affections. Were I to outline my fantasy fifties/sixties dress watch it wouldn't actually look like this - but because of that it seems to have more character, is more engaging.

The previous owner had done a nice bit of work with a Cape Cod cloth. Its in good enough condition that I'm enjoying gazing upon it, but is sufficiently pre-loved that I don't feel inclined to baby it. As the light fades, its beginning to twinkle charmingly. And 9ct gold is everything I hoped it would be, lovely and warm

Arrived this morning, a rather rare Heuer 'military' Autavia, model 73463. Lovely condition and with the original Corfam strap.

I'm glad that I decided to peer at these subdials - not sure I've noticed a 10-minute subdial before. How wonderfully readable!

(I've a 60-minute subdial on my only chrono, and it's like a diving toaster)

I was the lucky purchaser of this beauty recently sold by Kash. Rolex Explorer with rare black out dial and silver detail from 1991 with E34xxxx serial number. This Stunning full set example even has the original bracelet on it with very little wear.

I absolutely love the explorer I but I just can't decide among the 36 and the 39.
This one is the 36 , isn't it? Don't you feel a little small? Did you also tried on the 39 before purchasing it?

It all boils down to what suits you and if you want a bigger watch. With respect, I think you missed the point of this one, the "black out" dial was only produced for a very short period of time around late 1990 / early 1991 period and they are extremely rare. If you look at the 3, 6 and 9 markers the infill is black rather than white and the detail in the centre of the dial is printed in silver rather than white. Although these are relatively small details, it does make this version a highly desirable watch that collectors are keen to own. As this one is totally in original condition with box and papers it is a rare find.

But yes, if buying new I probably would have gone for a 39mm watch.

Actually this is a detail I didn't know. This changes everything obviously, you're absolutely right. I thought it was just a matter of lightning of the picture...

I think this is why the black infill was quickly dropped, Rolex must have realised that white looked much better, hence the black didn't last very long. It is extremely difficult to capture an angle that shows the black in detail. Below is a photo Kash took and included in his sale listing - hope he doesn't mind me using it.
