Been looking to become a Sinn-er for a while now - this landed today, and I'm besotted:

    Even better than I'd hoped!

Thanks to Papa_Hotel of this parish for this gem

My first Ball, loving it so far. Great size, 40 x 48 x 11.3mm
Dressy but sporty too with a non tapering bracelet with butterfly clasp and 100m water resistance, anti magnetic and shock resistance of 5,000Gs
    15 micro gas tubes.

Just arrived today Seiko Grand quartz. Bracelet is super comfortable and nice presence on the wrist. It's not as flash as I feared it might look as I've never owned a gold watch before.

Watch is in reasonably good condition but some of the gold plating on the clasp is coming off so will need to try and get it replated. If anyone has some recommendations it would be appreciated.

I can honestly say this is everything I hoped it would be.

And I have no idea why I waited this long to get a Lemania 5100-powered chronograph.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

It's a bit scruffy and, as with all of these, this manifests itself most obviously on the bracelet. Your Fortis was one of the final kicks up the arse to get a 5100 (together with drinking a fairly strong porter when I set up the snipe).

Mines a bit scruffy too but I think that suits the movement which is rugged in construction but polished in performance.

Very nice indeed. As a recent Lemania convert myself I have to say that a central minute counter makes so much sense doesn’t it?

This arrived today from the USA, an itch I’ve been wanting to scratch for a couple of years. An absolute bargain that I couldn’t resist, less than half the price of Jura here in the UK.....

    Enjoy the weekend

They really are fantastic value for money if you import from the states - even with tax and duty. Enjoy!

This arrived a few days ago, my biggest watch but its true that the short lug distance helps them wear much smaller. Very pleased with it.

My GW5000-1JF finally arrived from Japan last Saturday.

It took about 3 weeks with standard Japan post.

Here it is basking in the sun for a full charge.

Yep, it was Jason Graham’s personal watch, he even has it on his business cards. Took Kash 3 months to get it off him but didn’t take long to get it off Kash, you gotta love a flipper.

That’s an amazing watch, and my favourite of the BR03 divers. I hope to get one to partner my ceramic aviation BR03

During the lockdown, I've (like many others, no doubt) filled in some of the time, when I'd perhaps normally be doing something more productive, watching Youtube videos and discovered a channel with a Scotsman (although I think he's based in Australia?) called Just One More Watch.

He focuses on watches under $500 (I'm not sure if that's Aussie or US, though) and I enjoy his style of presenting and he seems pretty honest in his assessments.

Based on one of his recommendations, I bought this cheap 6105-alike, as I've never tried this case shape before.

I got mine from Heimdallr, although they seem to be sold by various people under different brands and with, in some cases, different dials.

It cost under £130 with customs charges and features a Seiko NH35 movement, which both hacks and winds, unlike the cheap movement in Seiko's own low end 5s.

It has a nice brushed finish to the case, decent (if a little short lived) lume and a pretty decent rubber waffle strap (probably silicon in fact) with a buckle with the brand name.

Obviously it's very early days (it arrived yesterday afternoon) and it's clearly not a high quality watch, but for the price I have to say it looks pretty decent.

Only downsides I can see so far are that the bezel is a bit tight and the Shark logo might put some off - I quite like it and it's fairly subtle on the dial.

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

This arrived today. Orient Mako XL. They are just insane value. It came on a serviceable if a tiny bit rattly stainless steel bracelet with hollow endlinks.

I swapped that out for this brown Barton Straps rubber, which I bought for the purpose.

It turns out the lugholes are quite far from the case which means there is a gap and, in this case, I can see the underside colour of the strap peeping out next to the case.

Too early to tell if I will find this endearing or annoying.

But all this for about £150 all in?

Congrats. I like it a lot and I'm neither into divers nor gild. I do want an Orient Star, though, I hope to finally find one I'll want to buy.

I own a yellow-faced Orient Star. It might soon be joined by a blue-faced one. That looks tasty, I'd be interested to hear your views after you've had it on for a while.

My latest arrival, but it’s just a bezel insert. A ‘fat-font’ for the 16750.
