What's the story with the motif on the 2nd GMT styled one?

Gunter Steinhart plays golf with some friends as part of a nomadic golf club and he made this watch for those friends. It was never commercially sold.

The date guichet is exceeding well done too - really nice bevelled angles at the subdial intersection to be appreciated under a loupe.

No, not the Chronomaster one, although I did see it one the website. This one came from the forum in response to a WTB. Liking it so far.

Indeed. That and the zenith Daytona are the two best looking watches Rolex has ever made.

Picked this up from Ray about a week ago now, only just got round to putting it on of the deployant straps.

As you can it's been worn in over the years by other forum members but that adds to the appeal Vs my normal day to day watches.

Well, I guess watches are like No 10 buses after all. Having outed three watches recently and thinking I could make do with the one incoming (a Hamilton Pan Europ) to tide me over for a long while, this comes up on SC. I've always had a fascination for tuning fork and spring drive movements with the smooth-moving second hand and have spent many a happy time watching videos of them. This arrived this week but I've waited until today when the leather strap arrived from Watchgecko which I thought should suit it reasonably well. The watch was supplied with an unused/unsized since new wire mesh bracelet which I've left as such.

I've always wanted to try an SBDX001 or 017, but seeing where MM300 prices have gone and having never owned one I thought I'd try the next best thing to help make up my mind before I decide to play with the big boys.

This should be with me next week

I have this with the blue bezel on rubber and love it. It's a great watch.

I also have the SLA021 and they're different enough to keep both.

Is the SLA actually smaller or is it the camera angle? I think the thicker bezel makes a difference.

The SLA is effectively an SBDX isn't it?

Yes, the SLA is effectively a SBDX. Sane watch but this is called Prospex instead of Marine Master for some reason.

It's weird, the SLA is bigger/fatter in almost every way but almost has a dial too small for the watch. I can't wear it on the bracelet as the dial looks even smaller that way, but the SPB079 has a bigger dial and wears much flatter and is different enough to keep both. People call it the MM200 but side by side they are very different.

The construction and proportions look very nice. I think the dial is a bit too exotic for my tastes but it looks like it might feel very nice on wrist.

Picked up the new Bremont MB III 10th Anniversary today, absolutely delighted with it, also have the white dial MB II and this is lifted a level with the polished case.

Imagine if this purveyor could see fit to make one with a yellow dial and blue bezel.....

That original is pretty eye catching.

Certainly sounds like something I'd be very interested in,
