Not even a watch - just a red Perlon for the Seagull (on my worryingly pasty wrist)

Just picked this up as a slightest early birthday present to myself. Been looking at this for ages. I love the blue sunburst dial. Please excuse the crappy iPhone picture.

    Arrived just before lunch today.

Despite it being a dull day, I spotted the blue lume looked great as I parked the car in an underground car park!

I went to collect the post earlier and was pleased to find this 1965 Smiths Everest waiting for me. It is in great condition and I love the blued dauphine hands infilled with lume and the style of the numerals.

The best way to wear one IMO

Looks good - the first of many perhaps?

Better late than never, just snapped a couple more pics. First vintage watch I've bought that came with original box and papers, even has receipt from 1970 and spare bezel.

With a little regulation it's keeping excellent time for its age at around +20s per day.

Thanks, Alan! The advertising photographs were not great so it was a bit of a punt, but that kept the bids low and it has worked out well. The 12.15 movement is nice and clean and there is a Feb '16 service date marked on the inside of the caseback.

I just need to source a suitable 17mm strap to replace the 18mm that it came with.

Thanks for the pics. That's a cracker. Let me know if you ever dipecide to sell it! I'm very partial to a 60s diver myself yours doesn't look a million miles from my Westclox.

    IWC 3717

My first major new acquisition for a couple of years and one I've been after since I first clapped eyes on it - an IWC 3717. This is definitely a keeper!

The bracelet is fantastic, incredibly comfortable and very easy to resize with the innovative push button system. I've taken the bracelet off already and tried it on this old JLC alligator but I expect I'll go down the OEM black croc strap route and keep the bracelet for best.

Love the Sinn, but I think that it is a 809, rather than a 801. The latter were automatic divers.

The new rubber strap that is fitted to the Seiko is 100% better than the previous one. It's so soft and comfortable to wear

Yes, I totally agree! It was a pleasant surprice when I received mine, but I have mine on a borealis Isofrane style rubber, which is also confortable and looks great on this watch, IMHO:

    Two incoming today:

Finally got one of these after missing out on several listed on SC and even being outbid on e-bay. Arrived today, didn't realise that it had those horrible double screw pins - fiddly as hell, but managed to get it sorted in the end. Got it on now. The seller said it had a tiny scrape on the crystal - that took about 5 secs with Polywatch to remove.

The second feels like an old family friend, the fourth one of these that I have owned. After a clearout of Steinhart I sort of regretted letting this one go, especially when John I sold it to kept posting pictures of how good it looked on a leather strap. Two were up for auction on e-bay and I got this for a decent price. Must keep hold of this one.

Too many watches now, watch box is overflowing. Time for another mini cull - the Orient USAs could be the first casualties.

Hong Kong based, and I expected the worst, slow shipping, faulty product, import tax. It's grey market, so warranty with the supplier, but it is a mud proof G-Shock! They are clear that taxes are paid by them, so the price you see is the price you pay.

Expected the worst, but actually pretty impressed

Came home to a box with a Tudor Big Block 79160 in it. I have been looking forward to buying one for a while now and finally found a piece in the condition I wanted.

Now trying to choose between bracelet and leather...

This has just arrived and I have to say I am very pleased with it. I felt I needed a white faced watch and this has that box well and truly ticked. Only had it on my wrist an hour but i think it will be a keeper!

Pics attached. Lugs are pretty decent, but a bit rounded and bevels are visible. I have taken a few pics but all I have is my mobile. not bad for a 25 year old watch..

Get a curved end leather . That gap between strap and case too large imho. NATO would look good too

Really love the DSOTM. What's it been like to own one? Any experiences to share? This looks terrific but very like the supplied strap. Did you need a replacement. Really hope to hear your thoughts.

Didn't need a replacement strap, just wanted the fold over deployant clasp rather than the tang buckle. I got the watch just before Christmas, so just under 3 months old and it's been great, very light and comfortable. I was a little concerned about how easy it would be to damage the ceramic case, loads of talk on the internet about this but only ever one picture of a damaged case shows up, so I hope it's just a load of fuss over one failure. Been a good experience so far

This little fella arrived today and so far so good, I've slim wrists so whilst 36mm initially seems a little small compared to my usual 38-40mm watches I know that'll pass quickly. My Tudor Jumbo is 38mm but despite this not feeling significantly smaller I do think the 39mm Explorer would feel just a bit big. Subjective obviously.... as is the jumper.
