The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

Shortest incoming in my watch history, return initiated. I love the Monaco 11, but this particular one is not the one for me. Some caseback marks that hadn’t been mentioned in response to pre-purchase questions

That’s a shame, lovely looking thing, one of the watches I want to try one day.

Much as it pains me financially, I’m going to have to investigate what deal I can get on a new one.

I was probably unrealistic, expecting an unmarked used watch, even if worn very little.

Longines Big Eye arrived yesterday here in the US. It arrived on the standard “distressed” looking strap which I replaced with an Omega strap and deployment. The watch has quite a weighty feel so the deployment makes the watch feel more balanced to me.

I’ve had an EXII white and black dials in the past, and stupidly sold them. It’s my birthday on Sunday so I’ve treated myself to another which I’m going to keep. Just arrived from Watches of the Vale, down in Cardiff. A 226570 Have to say they were very easy to deal with, and fair prices. Happy birthday to me. 🎂🎂

As mentioned on other threads, this Tudor Pelagos FXD GMT was bought today. Very happy chappy. Hope to do a review and contrast with my Omega NTTD sometime.

    Lovely watch!

Looks great on that strap too - well done for keeping it so long.

Picked up this Submariner 14060 recently, to mark my 50th. I was after something neo-vintage, with a strong case, and some character, and I think this fits the bill perfectly.

Having had a 14060M many years ago, and regretting selling it, it's good to have a Sub back in the collection!

Twice, i have built the watch fund up to enable what is for me, a significant purchase, but i wasn't comfortable spending that amont on myself. Instead, i redirected the money and had 2 unforgettable family holidays to canada, 1 for my wifes 50th, and the other my 50th. 3rd time lucky and I've finally taken the plunge! I've been waiting for something to come up on the forum but spotted this on the Blowers jewellers website. Long story short, great service, and price has forced my hand! Also arrived in a remarkably short time, well packaged and mint condition. Sorry to sound like an advert, but credit where credits due!

Downsized due to getting new car

Quite like the Hamilton Interstella Murph but it's 850 quid

Bought a Militado homage off eBay for 40 quid and stick it on a Perlon to see if I like it, even has a 'sweeping' quartz like on the film

    40 quid not bad

This SBGN019 recently arrived and I’ve just sized the bracelet (my god those bracelet link screws are tiny). Lovely heft to it and not too large for my wrist at 40mm. Dial is really nice too and it’s my first GMT watch.
    Love it!

    Cheers
    Neil

Why is that controversial? For me it’s not even a competition. Jubilee way too delicate looking for a watch of that heft. I’d argue the alternative is the controversial view.

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

After about a year of dithering I finally decided to buy this, it was down to the 30% off that broke me.

Since it arrived today I'm just not sure if I will keep it, mainly because of the strap and not being able to find anything I think would suit it.
    PS

Also the Buckle is polished while the case is Blasted, Why would they even do that.

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago.
A Boldr X Worn & Wound 3xT GMT, interesting colour way and a very comfortable wear.
It is in need of a little regulation to weed out a beat error though.

Having dismissed the BB 58 since its release as to small (even after selling the 41mm Harrods edition for being to big!) its been a bit of a surprise to find that not only are they not to small, but that the proportions are so much better than the 41mm version. Following a 2 week obsession over the silver 925 version, this brand new one is firmly on the wrist.
I guess we live and learn!

Not sure I had clocked this one before, looks fantastic.

I would probably wear that more than my pelagos 2nd gen, as just don’t get on with the bracelet.

Yet to own a decent GMT, could become my 50th gift to myself waiting for the LV.

It does wear really well for 42mm, the short lug to lug helps.
I’m the opposite, I generally only wear bracelets but the lack of that option has made me get used to the strap and I really like mine. As a GMT it works really well, legibility is excellent.

I’ve been wearing it constantly since purchase and no complaints. I think it gains approx 5s per week which is within expect specs. The lume is insane - since all the bezel is lumed as well as plots and hands and visible at 5am even if not “charged”. The GMT bezel is 120 clicks so can handle 1/2h TZ readings if necessary. Only one thing - it needs 22.5mm width straps, but thicker material 22mm works ok. I need to pick up some extra straps for it. Maybe watchgecho or Erica have been mentioned?

I got a bunch of paratrooper straps in 22mm from CNS which work really well.
Also a couple of 22mm Velcro straps from Tactical Frog. I find the OEM strap a bit fiddly.
