Thank you. The photos make the dial look a bit flat but in sunlight it has more depth with hints of gold. I might get around to replace the crystal at some point.

I was torn between this and the standard SBS because of the price difference and I was a little bit worried that the faux-tina might be a little, ahem… cough… trite, but really there was no contest and I love this version

My bog standard ‘light vintage lume’ version - not left my wrist in 3 weeks really, finally settled on a selection of NATO’s via zuludiver- the ones that came with it were a bit short and scratchy! - really pleased with it, has gained less than 2 seconds in 3 weeks which is impressive imho. Also has the best bezel action of any diver I’ve owned (and I’ve owned a lot!)

I kept dithering over this as well, then they sold out anyway which forced my hand.

As for NATOs, try the WatchObsession Premium NATO. Lovely and soft with a fancy buckle…

Yet another new arrival (its been a busy couple of weeks and there is another waiting for me to organise shipping but I am trying to space them out to not arouse too much suspicion). A Seiko 7019-7060.

It looks like the case has seen a buffer but I love the dial, particularly the way the long minute indices echo the hour markers and the stripes on the hands. It feels very well designed.

I’ve wanted to try a Farer for a good while now. ‘Needing’ a Field watch, I took the plunge on this. Loving it so far, it punches well above its price point.

Thanks, yeah it's been a busy few months. I'd not bought a new watch since 2013 when I ordered this. It got me back in here more often as well which led to a few vintage buys & the 6B from here.

Not new (I bought it from SC over a year ago) but incoming this morning. A cracking Seiko 6138 'Jumbo'. Expertly restored to working condition by Bodo. My crap photos just don't do it justice.

    Gotta love these vintage Seikos.

    Much kudos to Bodo.

That’s a stunner. Seiko churned out so many amazing chronographs back then - I’m amazed they haven’t dipped into the archives yet for a few re-issues

    Faultless choices sir!

The DC56 has barely left my wrist in the last few weeks, and when it has, it's often a U1 that replaces it.

Ha! A special piece! Look forward to getting hands on with that!

And I just picked up the below which came directly from the collection that the 1815 is entering!

Pounds I guess, its my wife's friend husband so I have not spoken to him personally.

I am sure though he can afford it being an ex band member of The Klaxons!

Congrats to him. He only paid £7k more than he needed to.

  43. #12943
Someone somewhere bought something like this sometime around these days, for somewhat less than retail, I'm sure.

What a catch, congrats stranger! (Hope it's not OT).

Just taken delivery of another Watch, this one being a Citizen eco-drive flieger/military type, you can’t go wrong for £77 thanks to Amazon, came on a black leather strap but this is gonna be used as a grab and go beater so on a nato it went, the dial is actually blue but looks black in certain lights.

I don’t normally like to use the term beater as I like to think I look after all my watches regardless of value, but I wouldn’t take my Seamaster on the beach metal detecting or even sea fishing on the beach come to that, here’s another picture showing the light hitting the blue dial and a comparison shot next to a recently purchase SKX009

Thanks very much to Mr. Lampoc for advice and assistance on this Vostok which has just arrived. His modded watch in the Russian watch thread proved inspirational. I have a new bezel incoming from Germany and an alternative bracelet to replace the OEM Vostok. It's the first bracelet I've ever had with PCLs but the clasp is truly awful.

Jamie is correct to say that these 20mm Vostoks do feel a step up in quality from the other 18mm versions I have. I'll pop it on the timegrapher when the new bezel arrives, and see whether it needs some regulation. They are great value at £57 exc shipping. If you're interested, this is the 20mm Komandirskie 650537.

Lovely. The case on the originals is a phenomenal bit of design. Wears so well and those lugs make it a real standout for the size.
