Thread: The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

Case almost exactly same size as Railmaster, and movement as thin as the 2500, the reason I was attracted to it . I dabbled with a Mkii to see if I liked the style bit that watch left me cold.

This one, hits a home run

Fairly spontaneous incoming by post today, as I haven't been able to see one to try in a jewellers so this was bought according to the limited online photos!

I seem to have a thing for watches that have an interesting side profile and this one doesn't disappoint with the slight gap between bezel and case for the push-down-to-unlock mechanism and the oversize "nut" surrounding the crystal adding extra depth. 80 hours power reserve, slow(er) beat movement adding to the retro feel albeit with a Nivachron balance spring to reduce the worries of magnets as on my older watches.

I present the Certina DS Super PH500m :-)

Great choice, I have the original orange one which I love. It goes really well on that tropic too.......

Just taken delivery of this absolute gem. I can see this being a bit of a strap monster.

Certainly looks like it will be, has a vintage vibe but epic modernism.

A cracker. I've had one in a basket then out then back in then out....

This was due to the choice of the Certina, the new Tissot 2000, the Edox Neptunian, the Oceaneva GMT 1250m and the Mido Ocean Star. Tough choice but I think the Certina wins hands down in looks alone.

I’ve always had soft spot for Tutima and I’ve owned several over the years. Just got this in a trade and I really like the crisp dial - but most of all the superb legibility (important with my eyesight).

Just ordered one of these. I love the colour combo.

    ***EDIT***

Photo removed due to the dial being confirmed as not an original (and then customized) dial.

Can I ask that those that have quoted the photo to also remove it please.

Looks way better on the bracelet in my opinion, I have seen other colours on the supplied matching rubber strap and to be honest, that look just isn't for me....now put it on a black tropic and the watch would look fab but I always think, bracelet looks best.

Each to their own of course.

    Dan Henry 1970 - 40mm

I’ve been eyeing one of these up for ages and missed a couple on eBay recently but managed to snag one on Sunday night. Just arrived this morning and straight on the wrist. I’m delighted.

    That is tremendous!

As per emgee, I assume it’s not readily available? I had a look online but couldn’t see it.

Well, this has now got me thinking. I know the Seiko mod world is a massively popular thing, but in my naivety (due to loving the combination), I assumed that the dial was OEM. I am now of the impression, through online searches that it may not be, so could constitute it being fake.

I knew the case, bezel and chapter ring were not OEM, and that did not concern me, but the dial has now sparked my moral radar.

I'll be asking the builder a few questions, as such I will not yet be replying to some of the PMs I have received.

Interestingly, the deal features in an episode of Watch Trader.

Disappointing, that was a great looking watch.

Wouldn’t have been worth keeping at a discounted rate to reflect the components used?

I've always wanted a chronograph, and a gold watch. Managed to scratch both itches with this Breguet 3810.

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

Been umming and ahing over the Bremont S501 and the BB58 for the past few weeks. I finally decided last week to take the plunge and buy the S501. I broke most of my watch buying rules, the Tudor would probably have better residuals, arguably a better movement and I bought the Bremont new from an AD after a little haggling. The first new watch I’’ve bought for years. I’’m glad I did it as I’’ve really bonded with this watch. I know Bremont are a bit of a marmite brand on this forum but I’’’’m glad I just went for it, I think it is a stunning looking watch.IMG_1762.JPGIMG_1764.JPG

    New Chinese homage Seestern 62MAS
    38mm..
    Domed Saphire
    Ceramic Bezel
C3 luminova with luminous date wheel..
    Drilled lugs..Great case finishing.
And a NH35 seiko with a superb tapered rubber strap with quality buckle..

Sadly I've just listed it on SC as I feel its a bit too big for me. But very impressed with the quality and love the style and the story behind it. Just wish they'd made it a little smaller.

I’ve got one of these and think the dial is lovely, slighty less so the wonky cyclops.
Put mine straight onto a Nato so never sized the bracelet.
    A future classic imho.
