I bought myself the 35mm quartz version last summer, and I've been very happy with how it feels and looks in general.

If the same design was produced by a brand higher up the Swatch ladder, with a level of finish a couple of steps beyond this, and with similarly more refined movement (setting the time accurately is more luck than skill) I would be delighted to pay the necessary extra.

The bracelet's plentiful halflinks are actually ⅔-links, so with trial and error you can find a really good fit.

That is very special. In many ways I think the chrono is more balanced. Two years insurance to so you can even wear it out of the house!

The insurance is a game changer, and I agree the chrono has a very balanced dial, it has been a favourite of mine for a very long time but it was always just out of reach and then Covid came and i basically had to give up on it as the prices went crazy. But I thought I’d try the AD and they were understanding and patient with me . But the reality is I’m wearing it doing a Sunday morning hoover and mop in my pj’s

Did the staff at the Boutique take the pics for you? 😂
    Enjoy!

No, they were taken in my garden in my PJ’s, though I did wear it out to dinner last night.

It’s here, I finally bit the bullet and ordered it and to say I’m happy with it would be a understatement

Ignore the tea towel I was sizing the bracelet for the 3rd time, the joys of scars!

That does look good. How thick is it? I've got the Tudor BB GMT which is pretty thick/tall and I was wondering if you would mind telling us how tall it is.

Sure. It’s 13.5mm. I also had a BB GMT. Personally found it too tall and bulky so moved it on

    A new arrival this morning.

However, I have to say the maroon dial is more brown than red!

I've been after one of these for more than a year now and - after a couple of near misses - it's finally landed. I would have been happy with either the blue or green dial and this is the green... I love it, and having picked up two blue dialled watches since I started looking I think I've ended up with the correct colour.

    Really, really pleased.

Ha, you can't beat an original. Looks perfect

As for affordable, that's relative, but Rolex it ain't.

Cheers:) have to agree it is nicer than the SLA. Indeed affordability is relative as I’m not loaded either but even better they are available and under the radar

Yes, much better size and if anything could be a tad smaller. I liked the box too

Thank you. I nearly succumbed and bought a three-hander, but I really did want the chrono so glad I held out. It could spell the end for my Speedy, though.

That is next on my grail list - did you by any chance consider the Bronze version with the slightly older movement and solid caseback? I'm assuming yours is the display caseback.

I haven't had an incoming for a few months now. I'm not entirely sure why I was looking for another Citizen Quartz but I tracked this one down to Texas. After traveling the length of the States three times (Tx, Il, Tx and then to NJ). it crossed the pond.

It is in virtually unworn condition. It isn't operational, which I knew, but a quick peek beneath the cover shows signs of the dreaded blue gunk so I'll need to track down a working module.

One thing I do like about these old Citizens is the colour coding on the pushers. It's a lovely little detail.

No, this was the one I was always after (and yes, display back).

I bought the bronze version, my only IWC but it’s a beauty, had more of an olive dial, that green on the steel really pops

I'm heading in to the AD tomorrow to ask about the whereabouts of my Pepsi and Paul Newman Daytona as the watches are flooding in.

I got mine from Ernest Jones but they’re readily available at several outlets. This is it on the Certina site.
