That's awesome Gav. I am tempted by one of these, a watch I have only recently become familiar with. You've bought four and sold three?

Thank you. Yeah over the years. I have owned this particular watch 3 times. Just luckily I have had the chance to buy it back again. No idea why I sell and chase again, think I am Ill.

Not one for the homage haters but a lot of value here, landed today - Steinhart Vintage GMT. This is the Olko edition with white indices rather than faux patina of the regular version. 39mm too. I’d like to get a BB Pro in the medium distance future so bought this as kind of an itch scratcher, as well as for a bit of traveling we’ve got planned.

Looks a nice size David and suits your wrist. I honestly like that more than the Tudor.

    More Fizzy Drinks

I’m really enjoying my new purchase, and have worn it for most of each day since I collected it.

A few firsts for a commercial Rolex, and just a little bit quirky. Somethings should work, but they don’t bother me anywhere near as much as I thought. If anyone had previously thought that the 9pm date on the Tag felt a little off, then I was in that crowd too, but I’m absolutely loving the left handed crown - especially on my left wrist.
It's just a matter of time...

Had a 16700 for a couple of years Jack and a 1675 before that. Still keen to try a 16750 at some stage.
I've got a jubilee that I'll get around to putting on the Pepsi and maybe get the Oyster bracelet fully brushed too-see how we go.
I've come to the conclusion I like lug holes, patina and steel bezels

Honestly David I was dubious about the size, normally anything under 42mm I wouldn't touch but it's just sooo nice.

I'm absolutely over the moon. I'm going to try a few straps but probably a Di-Modell is what I'll end up with.

Yes it's on sale at C W Sellors or was.

Well, the Alpina Extreme Regulator has landed; a few weeks early than anticipated. Excuse the hurried phone pics (I'll take more once my camera battery has charged and have more time). It's a 41mm case, 12mm high, which has some very good brushed and polished details, it has a nice symmetry about it.
The dial is slate grey and not that you can tell in this poor, dim yellow light, but the sub-dials are a subtle blue that suits the grey dial. They also do have circular graining that is quite fine and hard to see in this light.

Having not been a big fan of integrated bracelets, the design of this with its rubber strap and well executed deployant (which hides the tail of the strap underneath) is a joy.

Movement looks decent enough and I would have loved to have seen some decoration but at this price, £1,895.00 rrp, there's not much to grumble about tbh.

As for reading the dial, well this is my first regulator and will probably take a little adjustment; rather than saying ten past one, it's easier to read hours first and say 1, ten for example.
It's a swine to photograph as those brand triangle motifs reflect the light, which gives it an interesting look, which I like, but the camera doesn't!

(ps: the crown still has the blue sticker on).

So far I am very pleased with it and it will more than likely stay ( for a while at least!) and get some good wrist time :)

I am the same when it comes to case size Phil. I always prefer 42mm to 44mm watches, but this looks great.

The important bit is the classic Hamilton case design and that was enough for me.

There was no sale when I bought mine but I didn't hesitate buying one.

    Strong Moser vibe with that.

I have paid for it, but I have yet to go and collect it. A step up and a big watch for me, the 2014 Planet Ocean with 8500 calibre. Not an orange one, sorry, the black liquid metal bezel variety.
It is going to be pride of place I think, although my old 1120 Seamaster still makes me warm and fuzzy every time I look at it, even after all these years. With luck I shall be able to fetch it next week, depending on where I am sent for work.

Both great pieces. I have to agree with you with lug holes and steel bezels. The modern Rolexes do have their robustness and solid feel but certainly lacks the charm of the 4-5 digits. Also fits my wrist better too.

I’d love to see what your Blro looks like if you decide to get the bracelet brushed.

Amazing watches. I just wish the diver 300 had the po aesthetic. Enjoy.

At £1,300 that really is incredible vfm. Really like these, Hamilton did a great job, especially keeping it manual wind and resisting the urge to add a date window. Congrats.

NOS Zenith El Primero 1969 chrono (38mm).

Was offered a white faced Chronomaster Sport by the AD, and looked long and hard at the newer 410 movement EPs. But found myself returning to the simpler and cleaner dialed 400 movement 1969. Zenith was my first 'serious' watch that I purchased after starting work, and it has been a while since an EP was in the collection. Glad to have this version of it in the watchbox.

Terrible photos under harsh indoor lighting, but quite excited after a long day out to have a look at it!

Picked up this fun little piece today. Cal 2472 from around 1962 I believe. Shame I don’t have any 19mm straps to put on it now.

Thank you, I always wanted one but waited a bit too long.

This is the original SBDX001 with the non-Diashield case, Hardlex crystal and hand-applied lume in thick surrounds.

The later ones remedy some of those perceived deficiencies, but I just prefer this model.

Some lovely incomings recently, particularly the Moser and the two Marine Masters.

I regret selling my SBDX001 for an SLA021, particularly with the gold seconds hand which I didn’t notice for weeks.

Think I’ll go back in for another SBDX001 at some point.

I agree, it’s the best version (I am biased)
It’s a watch that makes me wonder why I have other modern dive watches.
