Now that is a thing of beauty. Can we see a pic from the side please? Need to see the height of that dome.

Tis arrived yesterday and was initially a bit underwhelming compared to some GS arrivals but really enjoying it now. Something of a grail.

I’ve had this about a week now and am extremely happy with it. I know Tudor is considered entry level (or just above) by many but it’s my best watch by far and hope it will be with me a long time.

Thanks. It's the black dial, I seem to have enough Blue dials.

This arrived yesterday, very impressed with it. I had one of their divers a couple of years ago which I was never happy with quality wise, this one seems a lot better built.

Enjoying the colourful dial which pops in the sunshine and is deep and subtle inside. The size is spot on I think.

Overall it’s a comfortable, well made watch on a decent bracelet with on the fly micro adjustment for under 700 quid (using a discount code)…..Very happy.

The only thing I would change is to have a shorter clasp, but the great adjustability is worth the trade off.

I'm not a Brown dial fan but that look's very nice.

Tudor Black Bay Bronze Bucherer, pre-owned obviously; cleaned in baking soda/lemon juice paste without taking off patina. Just fits with fabric strap on max length!

    Just seen this, thanks Ken.

Think I'm full steam ahead on a 1665 now -- mentally at least, but need to give it some time to boost the funds and work out what to dump to get me there quicker.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I've decided to keep it for a while and see how it goes. Things I was worried about was

    1) I didn't have chance to look or try it on in the metal before I bought it. I know this is sometimes the case in watch buying, but I don't think I want to do it again.
    2) Servicing as it doesn't use a standard off the shelf movement. I've rationalised this to myself on the basis that it should be OK without a service for 5 years and by then, hopefully Airain will have expanded sufficiently to offer some sort of service option for UK customers.
    3) The domed crystal is way tall. Seriously, it adds about 3mm to the height of the watch.
    4) Fratello Watches were correct - the brown strap does wash out the brown dial (https://www.fratellowatches.com/aira...mited-edition/). I do have another strap on order.
    5) The bezel doesn't click.
    6) DHL delivery was absolutely awful. I got a message to say they'd missed me when I was in - they hadn't even tried the doorbell. I couldn't work from home again, couldn't redirect to work so I ended up having to pick it up at the delivery office about 40 mins away. DHL's delivery offices aren't open at the weekend.
    7) I've now got 6 watches so may need to do a cull.

    On the positive notes:
    1) It's a good size for my wrist and I think it looks good.
    2) It is still thinner than my Tudor BB GMT.
    3) Drilled lugs and aside from the colour, the strap's lovely.

Hope this helps. If you want to ask me anything else, please PM.

Nice to see that they have finally sorted out their logo into somethng decent and the build quality is way up there, especially for a "microbrand".

CW are producing some very nice stuff nowadays. I might be in line for a 40mm C60 or similar once they fully transition to the new logo.

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

    Double incoming.

Had both before - missed the 2500 PO. Found a pair of minters from a collector.

Will join the rest of my “”on screen”” Bond collection

Arrived today from Velorum, first time with a tonneau case. Wasn't sure how I'd get on with it, but it's great.

Now thinking I need a Mellor and/or an issued version...

Patek Philippe do not generally have an immediate date change, like many other manufacturers.

The Patek pieces that I have worn, would generally take an hour and a half to completely change and align correctly.
So would to start close to midnight and complete by 01.30 hrs

This arrived this morning after huytonman (Keith) kindly responded to my recent WTB. I’d expressed interest in an SLA017 though more in hope than expectation that one would materialise. Those who own them don’t seem inclined to let them go and ones that appear on Chrono 24 have asking prices in excess of RRP. Being a pragmatic soul, I added a SLA043 to my WTB and that’s what I was offered.

What do I like about the watch? Well, here we go:

    Drilled lugs
No crown guards and a suitably large crown
    8L35 movement
A well proportioned bezel that doesn’t overwhelm the dial
    Attractive hour plots and handset
    Typically intense Seiko lume

The accompanying blue and black rubber straps look great but on the wrist they’ve pretty inflexible so they’ll be staying in the quite substantial presentation box. Fortunately this watch looks great on most other straps.

I thought the distinctive blue seconds hand would be quite jarring . But that’s not the case at all.

I wouldn’t pay RRP (£4080) and I doubt anyone did but good examples appear on SC for £2250-£2350, which seems like good value to me.

Cheers, earlofsodbury. It’s good to have a Seiko in my three watch collection and I’m definitely enjoying this one. There’s so much I like about it and nothing that bothers me.

I get so close to offering on the 043s every time one comes up SC. I love skin diver cases and the hands, indices and full bezel minute marks make this one basically perfect. The 62mas style is iconic without be homaged to death.
I really should just get one.
